Sunday Programs 9:45 am - 10:45 am
Childcare services are available at the POP Nursery during Sunday morning programs. Resurrection and the Afterlife in the New Testament St. Monica Room
Central to our Christian faith is a belief in the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Dr. Candida Moss, noted Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at the University of Notre Dame, helps us understand the significance of that belief. Facilitated by Sonya Phillips and Mike Brown. Begins Sunday, November 8.
Scripture in “Action” St. Elizabeth Room
Ever think about getting more out of church? Tired of rushing to run errands between masses? Take time for yourself - spiritually and physically! We discuss the Sunday readings including historical context, how they relate to us in present day, and seek ways to apply God’s message to our daily lives. Led by Tom & Elsbeth Germanson.
Religious Education What does it mean to be prompted? To prompt means to encourage, inspire, or remind someone to act. Sometimes we need the Holy Spirit to encourage us. We know what we should do, but it seems difficult and we need the Holy Spirit to give us courage. At other times we need the Holy Spirit to inspire us. We don’t know what to do and we need him to fill our minds with the right ideas. And then there are times when we get carried away or distracted and simply need the Holy Spirit to remind us.
Learning to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit is one of the most important skills you can develop. As with most things, we get good at recognizing the promptings of the Holy Spirit by practicing. The Holy Spirit is always prompting us toward truth and away from lies. He is always encouraging us toward the-best-version-of-ourselves and away from a-lesser-version-of-ourselves. The Holy Spirit is always prompting us toward what is good for us, and away from what is not. (Decision Point - The Dynamic Catholic Institute)
Looking for a stewardship activity in the Formation Ministry? Please contact Megan Everett for information, [email protected].

Stewardship: Parishioners Answering God’s Call When a parishioner moved to Birmingham, she actively developed a relationship with an elderly aunt that she had previously been unable to do long distance. They lived about 45 minutes apart, so visits had to be planned. For the last few years of her aunt’s life,
the parishioner visited 2-3 times each month, taking cooked food, buying groceries and providing social interaction for her aunt. When she passed away, 4 days after her 100th birthday, the parishioner knew that she had been re-connected with her aunt to make her last years a little more pleasant. Please submit your stewardship story examples to [email protected]. They may be edited for space consideration.
