Dr. Mark Freed has been creating acclaimed medical communication solutions and informational products for physicians and the healthcare industry for more than 20 years. In 1992 he founded Physicians’ Press to provide more timely and practical information to the medical community. As President and Editor-‐in-‐Chief, he set a new standard for up-‐to-‐date and user-‐friendly content, co-‐authored and edited more than 30 medical reference texts – including many international bestsellers – and built Physicians’ Press into a world-‐class medical publishing company in the face of competition from much larger publishers. During his 16-‐year tenure, more than 1.7 million medical informational products were sold worldwide. Physicians’ Press products were frequently selected over similar products developed by Elsevier, Lippincott Williams & Wilkens and other top medical publishers, leading to large (25-‐100K) repeat sales to AstraZeneca, Merck, GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi-‐Aventis and other major pharmaceutical companies. Physicians’ Press was acquired in 2008 by Jones and Bartlett Learning, a por�olio company of Providence Equity Partners, the preeminent private equity firm in the media, communica�ons, educa�on and informa�on industries. Prior to founding Physicians’ Press, Dr. Freed was a renowned cardiologist, researcher, and speaker. As a recognized expert in strategic content development and a thought-‐leader on patient adherence and provider-‐patient communication and collaboration, he is committed to improving healthcare by educating and motivating consumers and professionals, creating more effective communications solutions to improve outcomes and reduce costs, and inspiring life-‐long health.
