President’s Message
Dear Valley Quilters
Our new year is underway and I think we are off to a good start. I have a lot of new members
working in various positions, and long time members in new positions. With new ideas and hard
work, I know it will be a great year!
The first thing is our quilting Retreat. We have 25 ladies going this year. I know it will be a lot
of fun as it has been in the past. When we get back I’m sure you will be hearing about all the
stories and laughter that went on. Then you will be thinking,” I should have gone too”. Next
year, you will be first to sign up. I just know it!
Next, we have the bus trip to the Glendale Quilt Show. I sure hope you got signed up, so the
bus doesn't leave without you. Ladies, if we don't all get involved in these fun things, then we
won’t be able to offer them in the future. Who cares where the bus is going. Just get on with
your friends and go! Its quilting, lunch, and networking with each other. It doesn't get any
better! FUN!
Starting in March, we have a great Challenge and the Block of the Month project this year.
Shirley Mykris is doing the Challenge called “Storm at Sea” and Linda Wayment will be doing
Block of the Month pattern each month. Can’t wait to see how both of these projects look when
there done.
Last years, Block of the Month project with Edna Hornkohl's will need to be completed for show
and tell at the April guild meeting. At that time, she will be drawing the winner’s name.
Just remember ladies, a quilt is not a quilt till it’s quilted.
Every day is a good day, if we are quilting.
Mary

Our next “Sew-in” is March 30, 2020
What is a Sew-in?
A Sew-in is a get together of our
Hemet Valley quilters where security quilts
are sewn and tied. With lots of help, quilters
cut, iron, sew and tie between 15 and 20
security quilts in a morning,
Since each member is requested to make 2
security quilts a year, this is a great way to
meet that goal. Also, you’ll fill the need of
the community and get to know your fellow
quilters.
Please join us Monday, March 30th from 9:00
am to 12:00 pm at Valley Wide.
Hope to see you there!
