HISTORY
The company MAKSTIL came out from the reconstruction and the privatization of the former Mines and Iron & Steelworks Skopje
The plant started it’s activity on October 20th, 1967 and reached a production of about 1,15 million mt/year of finished products from 1986 to 1989.
During mid 90’s the various production units were divided into 10 independent companies following the decision of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia.
MAKSTIL AD Skopje was established on May 15th, 1997 as an independent entity, out of the above 10, with Duferco Group as majority shareholder.
PRODUCTION PLANTS Scrap plant with separator for selection and preparation of ferrous scrap ready for use in furnace.
The steel making plant with an electric arc furnace and ladle furnace for production of liquid non or low alloyed steel and a continuous casting machines to transform liquid steel into slabs.
In finishing line MAKSTIL has facilities for shot-blasting and priming of plates

CONTINUOUS CAST SLABS
Semi-finished products with thickness of 170, 200, 250mm and 300mm, up to 1550mm width, ready for rolling into plates.

thickness: from 5-120mm. width: from 1000-3050mm.
length: max 18000mm for transportation.

SELLS
MAKSTIL sells approx. 5% of his products to ex Yu markets and rest of 95% through
distributive network of Duferco to the European and world markets.
