■ Functions of the dead cable identification
This device provides all the indications necessary on a jobsite on a disconnected, earthed power cable up to 10 km long :
Identification of three-phase power cables in open trenches. Identification of the tree phase conductors on 3-pole or single-pole
cables. Continuity with the end of the cable earthed. There is a probe for each function : the detector identifies the probe and
adjusts to the function :- Continuity testing- Colour/phase conductor identification- Identification of polymer insulated cable- Identification of paper insulation lead covered cable- Colour/phase conductor identification on cut cables, compass probe.

AFNOR C18 510
This secure cable identifier is now part of the safety procedure called “secure identification” underground equivalent to overhead line Voltage detection.
The secure identification includes: Electronic identification complying with cable disconnected and
earthed on both ends (LV, HV) Spiking and cutting of the cable Continuity checking between transmitter and cable section in the
trench.
