University Pathway Program
The LSI University Pathway Program focuses on preparing you to study in a North American (USA or Canada) University. It is available for students enrolled on an Intensive 30 or an ISY 30 course. The course length is based upon your individual aims (minimum of 12 weeks is highly recommended). In addition to intensive training for TOEFL examinations, you will receive assistance in designing a study plan to help you achieve your goals. Successful completion of the University Pathway Program leads to acceptance on a course at a North American University.

Requirements: LSI’s Upper Intermediate English level or the equivalent (IELTS 5-6.5, TOEFL iBT 41-64, TOEIC
560-625, FCE Grade A&B). It is highly recommended that students assess their English level before applying to this course. Please contact a LSI school for a preliminary assessment test

University Pathway Program
What you will learn:While studying at LSI you will learn the following essential skills and techniques during your coursework to help prepare you for university:
University research and presentation skills Language and behavior common to academic lecture situations Examination skills and techniques Target essay writing skills which include presenting and developing arguments and critical
thinking skills TOEFL preparation and practice
Length of program and start dates: A minimum of 12 weeks. Common course lengths are 12, 16, 20, 24, 30, 36 or 48 weeks.
Course lengths depend on your individual ability and goals. It is recommended that you start the first Monday of the month or on the day recommended

Full-time students (those taking at least 12 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits in one semester), who are registered for Fall and Spring semesters are eligible for Curriculum Practicum Training (CPT) during their second semester, after 5 months of attendance. This allows them to work 20 hrs/wk during the semester and full-time during vacations.
MCNY offers Optional Practical Training (OPT) to graduates from all of its degree programs. This allows students to work for up to 12 months in the USA after finishing their degree.
