Described by the reviewers as a ‘daring artist’ the young Ger-man violinist Christoph Seybold has performed both as a so-

loist and chamber musician through Europe, North and South America and Japan.

Seybold appeared in concert with Kerry Stratton on a European tour in 2011. “It has been my pleasure to accompany many fine violin-

ists,” Stratton said, “ but I can say without reservation that Christoph Sey-bold caused the most stirring audience reaction.” “We were finally able

to engage him for an appearance here and I am pleased that Toronto Concert Orchestra will have the honour of presenting him.”

Seybold began violin lessons at age 4. Majoring in violin performance at the Universities in Cologne and Hannover, he received additional musical input from world class musicians such as Pinchas Zuckerman,

Rainer Kussmaul, Shlomo Mintz and Ida Haendl.

Seybold who currently plays a 1753 Niccolo Gagliano, will be performing the Tschai-kovsky Concerto in a programme that also includes an Orchestral Suite by Camille Saint Saens and the Toronto premiere of Introduction and Autumn Prelude by Canadian com-poser John S. Gray.

Additionally the TCO will be offering the first 100 ticket buyers for this Valentine’s Day Concert, a free CD of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with Haiou Zhang and the Eighth Symphony with The Slovak Sinfonietta and Kerry Stratton
