Link Hills is now in full swing. Pool, Tennis, Golf and Social Dining activities are underway, truly making our club the place to be this summer. Let’s make the club your first choice in all of your dining and recreational uses this summer. We wish everyone a wonderful summer and look forward to serving you often!
Father’s Day Celebration
Sunday, June 15th
Join us for our Father’s Day celebration on Sunday, June 15th. Link Hills will be celebrating with activities throughout the day at the pool, on the links, and finally in the grill and lounge. Come out and enjoy some family time at the pool with a Fa-ther’s Day Splash Contest with Dr. Bow and company. For the golfers, a pick your partner and draw event. This event will leave you in the dark with your 3
rd & 4
th players as they will be
blindly drawn. Food & Beverage specials from The Foy Harri-son Grill & Jackie’s “Long Boat Key Lounge” will surely have something for all.
From the Membership’s Director Desk Bethany Thomas, Membership Director
May was an excellent month and I have several new members to introduce to you. Please see our Welcome New Members box. We are looking forward to an active summer with the opening of the pool and increase in social activities. Please come out and join us as we roll out our Thursday Family nights including family focused comfort foods and entertaining games for the kids. New member referrals have remained steady but I ask you each to take a second and think about who's missing at Link Hills. Remember, all you have to do is forward me your potential member's contact information and I'm happy to reach out to them and invite them to join us.

Grounds Report
Turf 101 As we experienced one of our roughest winters in recent history, we are finally seeing the winterkill—damage to our Bermuda grass fairways fade, and our grass come back to life. The cause for this year’s injury was the multiple freezes and thaws that the turf experienced, with many areas that stayed frozen and iced covered. We escaped pretty lucky compared to several golf courses in the southeast. I have per-sonally seen courses that have lost most of their tee complexes, and suffered major damage to their fair-ways. Sod companies cannot cut sod fast enough to keep up with the demand at this time. Hope every-one is enjoying this great weather, and we look forward to seeing you soon. Marshall N. Brown, Course Superintendent
Summer is made for Family Golf
With the arrival of summer, what better way to spend some family time than on the links? In effort to as-sist our golf for fun initiative, we will again be placing the blue set of tees on the course designed for be-ginners, juniors, ladies and senior players to experience golf from a short course perspective. We will offer a regulation type course with a 6, 6, 6 format. This means six par 3’s six par 4’s and 6 par 5’s. The holes will range from 50 yards to 250 yards in length. We simply would like to offer all players an alternative to our full course based on dis-tance. The intent is to make golf fun while taking less time to complete any number

Ladies Invitational
July 7-9, 2014
The Link Hills Ladies Invitational is set for July 7~9. This event has been an area favorite for decades with la-dies traveling from across East Ten-nessee and Southwest Virginia. The Link Hills Ladies Invitational is widely known as one of the most hospitable and well run ladies golf events any-where. As in years past we will be asking for volunteer assistance from our men’s golf groups with bag drops, ball spotting, and other odd jobs for this event.
