The following New Zealand liferaft servicing stations meet an acceptable standard, as required by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) resolution A.761 (18) for servicing, repairs and repacking the listed makes of inflatable liferafts and lifejackets.
To maintain the right to service particular makes of liferafts and lifejackets; servicing stations are required to have been formally appointed by the manufacturer, have certificated personnel who have been properly trained by the manufacturer, carry genuine spare parts and have up-to-date servicing manuals.
For liferafts the following servicing is required:• Vessels operating under SOLAS or MOSS - yearly servicing is mandatory• Recreational vessels not operating under SOLAS or MOSS - servicing intervals may be at the manufacturers recommendation• Yachting NZ Cat.1 (offshore) and Cat.2 (coastal) vessels - liferaft must be serviced in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
Note: Beaufort RBM liferafts are to be serviced only at RFD stations.
