Step 3 Preparing and connecting wires:Thisdimmercanbewiredusingsidewireterminalscrewsorthroughbackwireopenings.Chooseappropriatewirestrippingspecificationsaccordingly.

IMPORTANT: For3-Wayapplications,notethatoneofthescrewterminalsfromtheoldswitchbeingremovedwillusuallybeadifferentcolor(Black)orlabeledCommon.Tagthatwirewithelectricaltapeandidentifyasthecommon(LineorLoad)inboththedimmerwallboxandremotewallbox.

Step 2 Identifying your wiring application (most common): NOTE:Ifthewiringinthewallboxdoesnotresembleanyoftheseconfigurations,consultaqualifiedelectrician.

INTRODUCTION

Leviton’sVizia RF +TMcomponentsaredesignedtocommunicatewitheachotherviaRadioFrequency(RF)toprovideremotecontrolofyourlighting.UsingRFtechnologyallowsLevitontoprovidethegreatestsignalintegritypossible.EachmoduleinLeviton’sVizia RF +TMcomponentlineisaZ-Wave®enableddevice.InaZ-Wave® network,eachdeviceisdesignedtoactasarouter.Theserouterswillre-transmittheRFsignalfromonedevicetoanotheruntiltheintendeddeviceisreached.Thisensuresthatthesignalisreceivedbyitsintendeddevicebyroutingthesignalaroundobstaclesandradiodeadspots.TheSceneCapableIncandescentDimmeriscompatiblewithanyZ-Wave®enablednetwork,regardlessofthemanufacturerandcanalsobeusedwithotherdevicesdisplayingtheZ-Wave® logo. CAUTION:RemembertoexercisegoodcommonsensewhenusingtheTimerfeaturesofyourremote,especiallywhenschedulingunattendeddevices.Therecanbesomeunexpectedconsequencesifnotusedwithcare.Forexample,anemptycoffeepotcanberemotelyturnedon.Ifthatshouldhappen,yourcoffeepotcouldbedamagedfromoverheating.Ifanelectricheateristurnedonbyremotecontrolwhileclothingisdrapedoverit,afirecouldresult.DO NOT USEtheremoteforthecontrolofhighpowerheatingappliancessuchasportableheaters.Thisdevicewillnotcontrollightingthatisusedwithelectroniclow-voltageandhighfrequencypowersupplytransformers,norhighpressuredischargelamps(HIDlighting).Thisincludesmercury-vapor,sodiumvaporandmetalhalidelamps.
