Capability:
Pod system provides A/C protection from infrared (IR) missile threats
System autonomously:
Detects threat missile launch
Tracks the threat missile
Optically jams the threat missile using an IR laser
Enables warfighter to forward deploy closer to the air refueling tracks

Upgrade 140 AFRC & ANG A/C with Group A kits
Procure 35 Group B kits (pods)
LAIRCM system components must be contained within a single removable pod
Pod must be rotable among the 140 Group A-equipped A/C
