DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR VAT REGISTRATION
In case of a Company/Partnership Firm/ Proprietorship• Copy of the rental agreement of the business Premises, where the
Business is carried on.• Four Passport size photographs of Proprietor / Partner / Director
(Each).• Copy of Address Proof(Rental Agreement or Tax paid Receipt)and
Identity Proof( pan card/Driving License/Passport). In case of Foreign Director, a copy of Passport and visa copy to be produced.
• A copy of the electricity bill is mandatory.• Authorization letter from the dealer for representing before the
Vat department.
In case of a Company/Partnership Firm/ Proprietorship• Copy of the rental agreement of the business place/ Godowns
where the goods are being kept.• Copy of the address proof, ID proof of the Proprietor /
Partner / Director.• Four Passport size photographs of Proprietor / Partner /
Director.• A covering letter stating the additional place of business• A copy of the electricity bill is a mandatory requirement.• Any dealer having more than one place of business in
different locations within the State is required to make a single application in respect of all such places..

PROCEDURE FOR VAT REGISTRATION
• We have to file an online application in the website- ctax.kar.nic.in and upload all the scanned documents.
• The hard copy of all the documents to be submitted to the department.
• The inspector will verify the documents and if he is satisfied with the documents produced, he will come for inspection within 7 days of Documents submission.
• He will verify the premises and make sure that the business is being carried out at such premises. (Name Board is mandatory)
• After the inspection, officer will approve the online applications and on receipt of Refundable Security Deposit, grant the certificate.
• The whole procedure would take a total of 15 working days from the date of submission of all the documents.
• If the dealer wants Central Sales Tax registration, he has to enable the option in the online application form.
• Once all the said documents have been submitted, there will be an inspection which would take seven days, after which the certificate will be issued in a further 7 days. (The whole procedure would take a total of 14 working days from the date of submission of the documents).
• The original VAT certificate would have to be surrendered so that the new certificate can be issued.
