DESCRIPTION
The design of a website from
initial blue sky sketches to vignettes,
concepts, rationalization against goals,
applying business requirements and
then defining a vision that gets refined
and finessed through the iterative
design process is what it’s about.
Redesign is the practice of evolving
and growing the original vision to
satisfy and delight customers based
on new user content models, metrics,
survey, insight, personas and simple
testing. Iteration, iteration, iteration.

DESCRIPTION
A smattering of graphics I created over
the years for projects in the Microsoft
Office Design Group. From HTML to
Sharepoint-based platforms I designed
Flash-based tutorials, support imagery,
brand and marketing pieces, animations,
and info graphics as well as PowerPoint
and Photoshop-based imagery as well
as advertisements... most for global
audiences using conceptual art and
designs that require less translation
= less cost and less lead time for
worldwide simultaneous releases.
I was also key in creating our global
partner and developer documentation
and tutorial animations, and libraries of
reusable ‘built art’ components.

DESCRIPTION
It’s easy to say ‘let’s use SharePoint’ and
then design your site in HTML’ modules but
my team soon realized this wasn’t the best
end result for our users. So we took on the
challenge to design ‘within’ the SharePoint
environment, embrace it and ultimately
presented case studies to build the product
into a much more robust design platform.
We could have taken the easy route but
that isn’t what design evolution is about.
Constraint and parameters are the issues our
clients face - we as UI + UX designers need
to experience that for ourselves to deliver
on the promise of the products we sell.

DESCRIPTION
A smattering of images + info
graphics to demonstrate the long
and fabulously exciting road we
have made since the initial debut
of web design.
It’s not always illustratively
beautiful in today’s standards but
we always pushed the envelope
of the tools we had to hand...
and learned much from those
experimental days.

Creativity has always inspired me
- whether photography, design,
graphics, music or travel. I can’t
capture all of the things I wish I
could - but they inspire me and
remind me to appreciate beauty
and good design in ALL forms :)
Photography was my first passion
and will probably remain just that.

DESCRIPTION
I love all forms of media...
though some I admire from afar
such as music, painting and true
illustration.
I admire those that have the gift and
try to learn and experience life thru
their creative endeavors. I am a media
junkie - concerts especially.... and I
catch every band I can that I know ...
... and sometimes I am luckily enough
to film them too!
I recently started a blog to share my
inspirations and captures, it’s a new
and exciting realm to explore. There is
a new experience around every corner
in this brave new world! Explore!!!
C ’ E S T M O I
+ A passionate observer of all things intrinsically meaningful in daily life, regardless of the medium it’s delivered in. EVERYTHING is designed. Most often bad designs get noticed before well executed designs.
+ A believer that great design isn’t flawless or static; flawed to those that notice and rarely perfect without evolution. Revolution! Bettered by use, input and redesign. A design is never ‘done’... it’s just so delightful at it’s very best when effectively evolved and presented.
+ Driven to improve life’s experiences for everyone, all the time... gaining insight from what’s learned in every single connection to the world... every day. Ask me about the ATM machine. Oh my! So basic.
+ An über-shameless skando + euro impressioned minimalist visual designer at my core. My UX vision of the world is focused on user-centric content but the presentation must be beautiful. usable, relevant and effective.
+ One that believes that form and function are equal & that DESIGN is a noun and a verb. And talks a LOT about it.
+ A massive advocate for great experiences large + small above all else in every single aspect of life... Life is difficult enough - there is no room for bad design.
Let’s make it better... little by little. Iteration, iteration, iteration.
