Surfaces are being subjected to ever more stringent demands. Knauf alutop® Standard Access Panels REVO satisfy requirements ofthis type for cladding thickness from 12.5 mm to 25 mm in any locationwhere there are no building physical requirements. The flush bondedDiamant board allows for flawless surfaces with minimal effort.

Fire-Resistant - one single type for all occasionsKnauf alutop® Fire-Resistant Access Panels F-TECOne type of panel, universally usable for ceilings, shaft walls, or
in solid walls and for cladding thickness up to 25 or 50 mm. Available for fireresistance classes F30 up to F120, optionally in combination with airtightness,dust-proofness, and smoke-proofness. Installation at a later time is also easydue to the attachment fitting. The flush bonded Diamant board allows forflawless surfaces with minimal effort.

The Knauf alutop® Access Panels AIRTIGHT and DUST-PROOF preventspenetration of air and dust in ceilings and walls without fire-resistancerequirements with a cladding thickness of up to 25 mm, even with overpressure or low pressure.
The Knauf alutop® Access Panel DISINFECTANT-RESISTANT is special-ly designed for handling air-communicable diseases which are to be treated as per quarantine laws in infection quarantine stations in hospitals where thesealing of ventilation systems in ceilings or walls (without fire resistance re-quirements) must be guaranteed.

Construction
Select access panels considering cladding thick-ness of the Knauf systems.Knauf alutop® panels consist of a firm outer alu-minum frame, and an openable and fully detach-able hatch. REVO and F-TEC are equipped withflush bonded or screwed face board made ofKnauf Diamant or Fireboard A1, applied either atthe factory or on-site. Outer frame and hatch ofthe access panels are reinforced on the rear sideusing corner connectors. The hatch is fixed flushwith the outer frame using special Knauf alutop®
locks and hinge brackets. A joint width of only ap-prox. 1.5 mm is visible between the outer frameand the hatch when fully mounted. With rectangular ceiling access panels, the lockand hinge system is always mounted on the longside.

Installation
GeneralInstallation of access panels as per accompany-ing application instructions, installation of KnaufSystems in accordance with relevant currentKnauf Technical Data Sheets. Cladding screwedto frame using Drywall Screws TB or TN (see de-tail pages). CAUTION: Length of screw deter-mined by cladding. Minimum 3 pieces per frameside. Distance between screws maximum 150mm. Predrilling only necessary with access pan-els FIRE PROTECTION CEILING. No boardjoints of the cladding are allowed near the ac-cess panel.With wall access panels, a clearance of ≥ 40 mm(DISINFECTANT-RESISTANT: 50 mm) must beensured in the upper third of the rear side of thehatch for opening the panel.
REVO and FIRE PROTECTION PARTITIONCut out opening 12 mm (with REVO 12.5 withoutseal 10 mm) larger than the access panel size(= clearance).If necessary, install additional trimmer profilesmade of CD- or CW profiles based on the dimen-sions of the access panel, maintain distances be-tween the cutout section and CD- or UW profilesof 30 mm minimum and 100 mm maximum (withwalls for the trimmer profiles, with ceilings on atleast two opposite sides). Additional suspendersare required for replacing suspended ceiling pro-files.Place the outer frame of the access panel in theopening, lay it on the cladding, align and screw
attach. Subsequently insert hatch and check lockfor proper functioning. If the distance to the in-stallations in the wall or ceiling is less than 200mm, it is necessary to perform the installation ofthe outer frame in the gypsum board before the cladding.

D11 Knauf Board CeilingsConstruction, Application
Construction
Knauf Board Ceilings are anchored directly to the basic ceiling as a ceiling lining, or with a suspen-sion as suspended ceiling.Knauf Boards are screwed on a metal grid made of carrying channels and furring channels (D112)or on a flush metal grid made of long and cross channels (D113).Select board type considering technical and build-ing physical requirements.
Settlement joints have to be taken over into the construction of the ceiling system.Use control joints in the case of ceiling areas over approx. 15 m length, or for narrow ceiling spaces caused by a break of a wall. Separate gypsum boards from building elements made with materials other than gypsum, especial-ly columns, by creating control joints that allow for movement, e.g. shadow gap.
Knauf profi les are delivered galvanized. This cor-rosion protective coating is sufficient for indoor rooms, including bathrooms and kitchens in pri-vate housing. For other areas, e.g. exposed to out-door air, additional corrosion protection is neces-sary (see DIN 18168-1 table 2).
Application
SubstructureAnchoring to basic ceilings made of
●reinforced concrete: Knauf Ceiling Steel Dowel
(used in accordance with Construction Supervi-sory Permit no. Z-21.1-1519),
● other building materials: anchors have to be per-mitted and standardized for the building material being used.
Fire protection from above: Use anchor that is ap-proved for fire protection purposes (Knauf Ceiling Steel Dowel). Suspension of channels only with
suspenders according to page 10 (consider addi-tional measures).
Suspend with Hanging Wire and Ankerfix Rapid Hanger (lock lever), Universal Connector, Universal Bracket, Nonius Hanger (screw with channel in case of fire protection from above or total ceiling weight of ≥ 0.4 kN/m²) or Nonius
Stirrup. Secure Nonius Pin against sliding out.
For spacings of anchors and channels or battens see tables of systems. Connect carrying battens / channels with suspenders and align planely in re-quired height.
Connections of channels / battens
● D112: carrying CD channel to furring CD Chan-nel with CD Intersection Connector or Clips for CD 60x27
● D113: long CD channel to cross CD Channel with Flush Connector or Universal Connectors
Connection to wall with UD Runner 28/27 as load-bearing connection, installation aid or in case of fire protection; fastening with anchor that is suitable for the respective building material, spacing of fas-teners 1 m max. (non load-bearing) resp. 625 mm max. (load-bearing). For sound protection require-ments seal up carefully with acoustical sealant ac-cording to DIN 4109, supplement 1, chapter 5.2; porous sealant strips like Sealing Tape are usually not suitable in this case.
CladdingApply boards laterally to furring channels (D11212/ D113).Apply cut edge joints on battens / channel and stagger them for at least 400 mm. Start fastening of Knauf boards either in the mid-dle or at a corner in order to prevent upsetting deformation. Press boards firmly on to the grid and screw with Drywall Screws TN according to page 3.Carry out connections to other construction-al components with paper tape and putty cover connection with runner/ board strips in case offire protection.
