Staff Training done by Staff during July 2011
Mrs. P.A. Gajarushi, Lecturer in English, Science Department, attended ‘Induction Training
Program Phase- I’ which was jointly organized by NITTTR, Bhopal & Government Poly, Nashik
at Government Polytechnic, Nashik from 11th
July to 22nd
July 2011. It was of Two Weeks
session. For Week- I, the resource person was Dr. J.P.Tegar and for Week- II, Dr. Anil Kumar
was resource person.
In Week-I, the awareness regarding Roles & Responsibilities was done with brain storming
assignments. Then, the discussion over General & Specific Objectives and Session plan was
done. It was ended with preparing Final Session Plan.
In Week-II, the stress was given on preparation for Micro- Teaching in the class. The preparation
of PPT, Transparencies regarding the session plan was also done. The Micro- Teaching was
observed by the resource person and ended with feedback.
C and C++ Programming Contest arranged by the Information Technology Department.
An Inter Departmental C and C++ Programming contest was organized by the
Information Technology Department for the second and third year students of Information
Technology and Computer Technology departments. The event was coordinated by Ms. M. D.
Patil and Ms. N. D. Desai. About 25 students from both the departments participated in the
contest. The events were judged by Mrs. A. D. Joshi (Lecturer, K. K. Wagh Polytechnic, Nasik)
and Ms. P. P .Patil (Lecturer, K. K. Wagh Polytechnic, Nasik). First rank for the C Programming
contest was awarded to Ms. Monika Sonawane (SYCM) and Second place was awarded to Ms.
Nisha Bhosale (SYCM). For C++ Programming contest, the first rank was awarded to Ms.
Kavita Wagh (TYCM), second to Ms. Nayan Gandule and the third rank was awarded to Ms.
Pooja Tajane (TYIF).

‘TECH-ART’ – A Technical Article Writing Competition
A technical article writing competition named ‘TECH-ART’ was organized by the
Information Technology department for the students of all the departments. The event was
coordinated by Ms. M. D. Patil and Ms. N. D. Desai. About forty students participated in the
event. The students enjoyed the art of technical writing and covered various technical areas like
Nanotechnology, Artificial Intelligence, Grid Computing, Mobile Computing, Image Processing
and many more. . The first prize for the electronics group was awarded to Ms. Pooja Mugde
(TYEJ) and second prize was awarded to Ms Shraddha Patil (TYEJ). The first prize from the
computer group was awarded to Ms.Komal Bhatia (TYCM), second prize was received by
Ms.Vishakha Patil(TYIF) and the third prize was shared by Ms.Fatema Merchant(TYIF) and
Ms.Neha Kale(TYIF).

Electronics and Communication Engg.Department
1)Sivananda Electronics-
Department of Electronics &Communication Engg. has arranged Industrial Visit to “Sivananda
Electronics” on 1st July 2011 for SYET &TYET students. Sivananda Electronics are specialized
in the manufacturing of Electronic Instruments, Metal Detectors, Turnstiles, Computerized
Attendance Recording & Access Control. Sivananda Group has introduced more than 300
innovative quality products to cater to different application sectors like Defense, Power,
Communication & Railways etc. This industry manufactures different Test Equipment,
Measuring Equipment, Security Equipments and Integrated Systems.
2)Electronics Switches Pvt.Ltd.
Department of Electronics & Communication Engg. has arranged Industrial Visit to “Electronics
Switches Pvt.Ltd” in MIDC Ambad on 25th
July 2011 for TYET students. Electronics Switches
Pvt. Ltd. manufactures variety of automation sensors and automation products. These have wide
application in non contact sensing, switching and controlling various automatic processes, safety
& security applications, and to improve product quality and production.
3)Subal Electronics
Department of Electronics & Communication has arranged Industrial Visit to “Subal
Electronics” in MIDC Ambad on 25th
July 2011 for TYET students. Subal Electronics
manufactures Testing Equipments like Fully Automatic Capacitance & Tan- Semi Automatic
Capacitance &Tan- Automatic Capacitance &Tan- High Voltage Standard Capacitor, Oil Tan-
Delta & Resistivity Test System Model, Manual Capacitance &Tan, Automatic Oil Tan Delta
Test System, High Voltage Tester and Standard Capacitor. The market scope for utilization of
Tan Delta systems is in Indian Railways, Shipyard sections etc.
Electronics and Telecommunication Engg. Department-
1)Visit to Remote Sensing Department, Meri
Visit at Remote Sensing Department, Meri
The Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department of K.K.Wagh Women's
polytechnic , Nashik has arranged visit to "Remote Sensing Departmentt of Meri" on 27th July
2011 for final year students. The main objective behind this visit was to make students aware
about the satellite remote sensing technology. Mr.Mahendra Naik gave the presentation about the
technology. He also explained about aerial active and passive sensors, data acquisition system
and radiometers. He guided our students regarding future scope and demand of remote sensing.
The students gained lot of beneficial information from the visit. 2)Visit to Shivananda Electronics
Visit at Shivananda Electronics
On 1st July 2011, a study visit was organized at "Shivananda Electronics" Nasik Road . Staff and
students of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department of K .K. Wagh
Women’s Polytechnic, Nashik visited the site. Mr.Pritesh Ratnaparkhi guided the students about
the products manufacture in their industry such as oil insulation tester kit, conductor meter ,
security products and metal detectors etc.
Computer Department-
1)MERI
For the final year students, the industrial visit to MERI, Nashik was arranged by
Computer Technology department on 05th
July 2011.The visit was given to Remote Sensing
Laboratory and Geographical model of Maharashtra state. Mr.M.B.Nakil and Mrs. A.D. Rajput,
Scientific Officer, Remote Sensing and Geo-informatics Division, MERI, explained about how
satellite is remotely sensing the crops on earth, various color bands, FCC image of satellite,
analyzing FCC image for sugarcane crops density near Jayakwadi Dam and use of ERDAS-NET
Image 2010 software for analyzing the satellite image. Remote sensing technology is used for
finding the availability of crops , its density and its use to increase the revenue of Govt. By using
Geo-referencing and contouring, Geographical model of Maharashtra state was prepared.
Expert Lecture on ,`Project Guidances’
Electronics & Communication department has organized a expert lecture on, “Project Guidance”
given by Mr. Kunal Gosavi, Engineer from Reliance Communication,Vashi. He explained the
procedure of how to take sponsorship of project from the industry. He gave an opportunity to the
students for industrial training in their company during vacations. He gave information about
projects based on control over home appliances through any mobile phone by using GSM or
CDMA and also through remote system.

As per MOU two industries has granted permission for industrial visits of the students and staff.
Mrs.S.S.Chandgude, HOD(ET) and departmental MOU Co-ordinator Mr. M. M. Kumavat also
has a discussion on Industrial training of the students, expert lectures and industrial Projects of
final year students with company representatives. It was also discussed that company staff will
be guided by our staff members.
Staff Study Circle Activity-
Lecture on “Automated Plant Irrigation”
Ms. M.Reshmi lecturer in Electronics and Communication Department delivered a seminar on
‘Automated Plant Irrigation’ on 19 July 2011.Agriculture as the biggest industry deserves more
attention so this automated system provides the innovative step towards making hi-tech
agriculture a reality and thus provides a lovely path to poor farmers. This system main aim is to
provide water automatically without the help of a farmer.
Expert Lecture on ‘Networking and Security’
An expert lecture on ‘Networking and Security’ was arranged by the Information
Technology department on 30th
July 2011. The expert for the lecture was Prof. S. L. Dawkhar (
Head of Information Technology Department, Guru Gobind Singh Polytechnic, Nashik). He
discussed the basic concepts of networking and network security. He focused on various devices
and operating system used in networking. A brief introduction of the role of directory services,
protocols like Netbeui ,TCP/IP, Bootp, ARP, RARP , DHCP, DNS and Wins was also discussed.
Along with this, he also gave information about the various opportunities in the networking field.
The lecture was attended by the students of Second and Third year.

Seminar on ‘Spiritual Education’
Mrs. J. N. Vadje of the Information Technology department presented a seminar on
‘Spiritual Education’ under the staff study circle activity. The seminar focused upon the various
aspects of spiritual education, self empowerment, meditation, character, role of prayers in the life
a human. It was also supported by some stories and short narrations. It helped in understanding
the moral principles necessary for building up a peaceful and successful life.

Counseling Seminar on “Direct Second Year Engg. Admission Process”
Mr. Gaikwad H. M. Head of Computer Dept. of K. K. Wagh Women’s Polytechnic delivered a
counseling seminar on “Direct Second Year Engg. Admission Process” for the students of
Computer Technology & Information Technology those completed their Diploma in Engg. In his
seminar he explained the DTE rules for admission, Types of candidates, Eligibility criteria,
groups & sub-groups of courses, no. of rounds, Various reservations, Documents required, fee
structure, fee concessions, Govt. scholarships etc. He also guided about how to fill online
admission form, how to fill option form, precautions to be taken, various Engg. Colleges in Pune
University and Cut-off merit of 2010-11. The students understood the entire admission process
very well and expressed the views that they are now quite confident and fearless to face the
Direct Second Year Engg. CAP-2011 process.
Expert Lecture on “Emerging trends in Communication”

The Department Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering of K.K.Wagh Women’s
Polytechnic, Nashik has arranged a lecture on “Emerging Communication Techology” on 29th
July 2011 in the Vishvakarma Hall. The lecture was conducted by Mr.G.R.Sahasrabudhe
Retired communication Engineer from HAL Nashik. The lecture began with brief introduction of
communication technologies like GSM, CDMA and the modulation techniques used for
transferring data.Further the talk was preceded with the latest emerging technologies 3G , High
definition and wireless techniques .He also explained the different electronic equipments used in
aircraft like Non-directional (radio) beacon (NDB), Tactical air navigation system( TACAN)
etc.The lecture was concluded with the discussion on the scope for Communication engineer in
industries.
