Kia ora Dalefield Whānau, It’s hard to believe we’re already well into the term. Don’t leave town till you’ve seen the
country is our key big idea and it was wonderful to spend the last two days at Pūkaha - the
national wildlife centre at Mt Bruce. This was the first trip for the whole school since lockdown
and was a a great way to interact with the stunning local wildlife.
New children We welcome Fletcher Murray and Campbell
Owens to Dalefield. We are enjoying having you
as part of the team and we know you’re going to
love it here.
Pūkaha is on our back door. We are so lucky to live in this part of the world.

Mini ball has also started up this term.

School Lunches
This link takes you to a guide for school lunch ideas. A number of parents and children have
been inquiring about the best lunch ideas to be found online. The New Zealand nutrition
foundation is the number one site and brings the best mix of ideas, diet and food for energy
and fuel.
Later this term our big idea will move into local foods (as part of the Health and Physical
Education curriculum.
From the Home and School Committee - save the date!
The Dalefield Pet Day and Country Fair as you know will be happening on the 24th October.
The committee has organised a meeting here at school next Wednesday 12 August at 7:00pm.
The purpose of this meeting is to organise helpers and pull together any extra ideas etc. As
mentioned in the Home and School’s last newsletter, we aim to make this the best event ever
and are relying on the community to swing in behind.
We have a couple of requests:
1. Is there anyone out in our community who has skills using social media? We want to get a
Fair Facebook page up, so please get in touch with the school or Leah Wynne.
2. Please come along next Wednesday to the meeting at school if you can assist in any way at
all - no offer is too small!
