Shared moments of information and inspiration about our church family
Prelude “Agnus Dei” Georges Bizet (Tim Kueberth, Baritone)
*Processional Hymn “ Be Now My Vision” #451
*Call to Worship (parts of Psalm 105 revised)
L: Come before God, asking what you will, and your needs will be covered.
P: How can we ask the Ruler of the universe to give attention to our small
problems?
L: God knows and values every one of us; nothing is too great or small for God’s
attention.
P: Our ancestors in the faith experienced God’s wonderful, rescuing works.
L: We, also, can know God’s care in our lives.
P: We need the food God provides in our wilderness and the cloud and fire
to guide us.
L: Draw near so the Holy Spirit may encounter you; hold nothing back from God’s
All-knowing presence.
P: We bring all that we have and are to the throne of grace. Amen.
Prayer of Invocation (Offered by all)
Our Loving God, you scattered the stars and planets across the great expanse
of the universe, and you told us that your love for us is even greater than this.
You scattered your seeds upon the earth, and told us your love was like the
smallest of these seeds that would grow into a home to all who wander. You
scattered your seeds among creation, and whispered to us that if we hold on to
you, we will find our foundation in good soil and bring forth a harvest. Scatter
your seeds again, we pray, for we desperately need renewed hope. Nourish the
seeds of hope with the gifts of the Spirit, and grow us into your living hope for
the world. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

The Prayer Jesus taught Us
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.

The Mental Health Association of Frederick County has served the community as a
private, non-profit organization since 1965. A leader in creating services that
respond to the changing mental health needs in our community, the Mental Health
Association of Frederick County is a place where people can be heard and receive
support. Their programs aspire to promote positive mental health and offer not just
education, but the support and compassion needed to make real and lasting changes
in the lives of those they serve. Your support enables them to provide suicide/
crisis intervention, professional therapy services on a sliding scale basis, trained
advocates for children in the foster care system, and child abuse prevention
programs that strengthen and empower Frederick’s children and families.
We would like to thank Joan & Ray Hummer for hosting our
fellowship time after the worship service last week. If you would like
to host a coming up Sunday to provide a light refreshment, please
visit the sign-up sheet in the back of the sanctuary. There are just two
Sunday’s left in August to fill.
