While public Mass was suspended, the priests of our parish filmed videos daily to help sup-port the faith lives of our parishioners. We received positive feedback on these video se-ries and so we will be doing more of them in the future! A study last year revealed that a large majori-ty of Catholics misunderstand what the Church teaches about the reality of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist. To help us grow in our understanding of this great gi from God, seminarian Shane Flanagan, who has been with us this summer, created a series of videos called “Come Home.” We will begin posting the videos this week on our parish Fa-cebook page, YouTube channel, and website.
The staff and parishioners of Saint Agnes are thankful for the service of Ms. Debra Smith as the Director of Religious Education these past three years. We welcome to Saint Agnes Mr. David Serrano-Gonzalez, a member of Saint Patrick Church in Norristown, who has accepted the position of Director of Religious Education. David will begin his new responsibilities on July 15th.
While we still do not know what the academic year will look like, we know that students will be returning to school in some manner. Please consider helping us provide the need-ed tools for learning for children in poor families who need a little help. We will be distributing backpacks and supplies to the children in neighborhood families who have requested help. We hope to provide back-packs and supplies for children in grades K through High School. If you would like to help a student get off to a good start please purchase a grade appropri-ate backpack and fill it with some of these supplies: pens/ pencils/ crayons/ colored pencils, marble composition books, spiral note books, 2” binders, 2 pocket paper fold-ers, loose leaf paper and dividers, scissors, glue sticks, dry erase markers, high lighters, rulers and pencil case. Any of these items will be much needed and appreciated by a stu-dent in need! Deep gratitude to all our volunteers, cooks and benefactors who have provided needed funds, talent and food for those who are struggling from job loss or reduced income during these difficult days. Your kindness has been, and will continue to be, a blessing for the many who come to our door in need. May God grant you summer refreshment and good adventures and may He continue to bless you with His love and His grace!

Come to the Chapel on Wednesdays at 11:00 am to recite the Flame of Love Rosary. The Flame of Love is God’s love for each one of us. He knows us individual-ly and loves us very much. He does not want us to ig-nore Him (or one another) Jesus communi-cated to Elizabeth Kindelman in her diary the following Unity Prayer: May our feet journey together May our hands gather in unity. May our hearts beat in unison. May our souls be in harmony. May our thoughts be as one. May our ears listen to the silence together May our glances profoundly penetrate each other, May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father. Amen. The Lord explained, “Satan being blind signi-fies a worldwide triumph of my Sacred Heart, the freedom of souls and a full opening of the road to Salvation.” The Blessed Mother had explained to Elizabeth Kindelman to add the following to the Hail Mary prayer, “spread the effect of grace of thy Flame of Love over all humanity” in the Flame of Love rosary. By the recitation of this prayer, you will blind Satan and save souls. It is the job of all of us to help save souls. For further information, call Cheryl at 610-696-7706. See www.flameoflove.us

Next weekend, July 18th and 19th, Brother John Blazo of the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers will speak at all the Masses. Bro. Bla-zo has served as a missionary in Guatemala and will invite us to take part in the vital work of bringing Christ and His Gospel to all peo-ple. While at the parish, Bro. Blazo will be happy to talk with any parishioners who are interested in doing overseas mission work.

The TuitionCare program was developed by the Foundation for Catholic Education and is aimed at significantly reducing tuition for our parish school families. This year, 55 families participated in Tui-tionCare which resulted in a $55,000 dona-tion from The Foundation for Catholic Edu-cation resulting in a $310.73 reduction in tui-tion for each of our Saint Agnes School Families in Grades K to 8! Our goal is to increase participation in the TuitionCare Program, so that each of our school families could be looking possibly at Tuition Reduction Credits of about $1,000 for the next academic year (2020-2021) pro-vided we are able to grow the program. This is a truly exciting program for funding Cath-olic education. We invite you to educate yourself about this important TuitionCare program which benefits our families and our school on our parish website. If you would like to participate in TuitionCare for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year, please go to saintagnesparish.org/tuition-update for directions. Forms must be submitted by August 31, 2020 to [email protected].

Over the years, I have attended quite a few parishes around the country, but from the moment I set foot into Saint Agnes Church, II knew that this parish was different.
I have only been the communications assis-tant here at Saint Agnes for a few months, but the past few months have been filled with such a real sense of love and God’s presence in this community that I know that I have been changed by them. I look forward with joy and great expectation to what God has planned for Saint Agnes Parish, for our future growth, and for the small role that He has asked me to play in it.
My experience of Saint Agnes Parish is very limited, though. The reality of what God does in this parish, His presence, and the love that He reveals through our members are much greater than what I could possibly express. II need your help. Yes, you.
There is a reason why you choose to come to Saint Agnes. There is something in this parish that gets you to keep coming back week a er week and year a er year.
Psalm 77:11 says, “I will remember the works of the Lord.” We will eventually ask for you to send in your thoughts, but for right now we simply are asking you tto remember. Re-member what God has done for you in our parish. Maybe it was a sacrament you re-ceived here, the love of the parish at a diffi-cult time in your life, or the experience of raising a family in our parish. Whatever it is, remember it. Like Mary, treasure it in your heart.
Besides just writing the bulletin, part of my job here at Saint Agnes is to share with the broader community what it is that is so spe-cial about our parish. I can’t think of any-thing better to communicate than the reality of God’s presence and work in our parish. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! United in Christ and His mission, Cecilia Cicone
