NAPLAN Year 3 and Year 5 2019
NAPLAN assesses literacy and numeracy – important skills that each child needs to succeed in school and life. The NAPLAN tests are designed to help us make sure students are on track with their literacy and numeracy development. Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 participate in NAPLAN tests for reading, writing, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. Between May 14 and May 24, our school will participate in NAPLAN Online. Students do not need to be computer experts to take the NAPLAN test online. Making sure students have computer skills is part of our school curriculum, and our teachers will ensure your child is familiar with the online format. To see the types of questions and interactive features of NAPLAN Online, visit the public demonstration site. If you have any questions about NAPLAN Online, please contact your child’s teacher. The P&C will be holding a cake stall on Election day with lots of fresh baked yummy treats from Thompsons Bakery. If anyone is available to lend a hand it would be greatly appreciated. We will need helpers from 8am to approximately 1pm. We are just 3 WEEKS away from the Colour Explosion Fun Run!!!! Time to start getting excited. It does cost the P&C money to host this event, so if everyone can make an effort to raise some $$$, it would be greatly appreciated. Students who raise as little as $10 will receive a prize for their efforts, but why not aim higher and help us achieve our fundraising goal. Don't forget to set up your online account at www.myprofilepage.com.au to help make your fundraising and prize ordering a little easier. Every child that participates in the fun run will receive an ice block, participation certificate and a sweatband. The committee are very busy working behind the scenes to ensure this day is a super fun event for our school! We are still looking for some helpers to blast the kids with colour. Contact Cindy on 0401 319 885 or Laura on 0419 975 758 if you are available. The highest fundraising class this week is 3/4K. They are currently in the lead to win a pizza party lunch in Term 2. Souvenir Colour Explosion shirts are now available to order for $20. Don't forget orders need to be received by Tuesday 26 March.(An order form is attached) If anyone knows of a business that may be interested in sponsoring our event, they can have their company logo printed on the back of the shirt for $100.
