1. Prefix - word part at the beginning of the word indicating number, location, time, or status.
▫ Examples:⚫ A-,an- → without, lack of
➢ anemia → without red blood cells⚫ Anti- → against, opposing
➢ antiseptic → against infection⚫ Pre- → before
➢ Preoperative → before operation

⚫ Cardi- → heart➢ Cardiology → study of the heart
