CenturyYuasa has developed a new range of batteries that can help reduce fuel consumption and emissions in the next generation of motor vehicles^.

Suitable for use in petrol, diesel and gas powered vehicles, when installed in vehicles with Regulated Charge Control Systems, these environmentally friendly batteries can reduce fuel consumption and cut vehicle emissions by up to 2%.

How Does it work?Conventional Charging SystemsIn conventional charging systems, when the engine is running the battery is in a constant state of charge. This places load on both the alternator and engine, using more fuel.

Regulated Charging SystemsIn Regulated Charge Control Systems the level of power from the alternator is controlled according to the running conditions and batteries state-of-charge.

In normal driving conditions the charge control system will supply energy from the battery to minimise the engine load to reduce fuel consumption.

When the vehicle is decelerating, less load is placed on the engine allowing the alternator to quickly recharge the battery using a high current fl ow. The batteries ability to recharge quickly minimises the load on the engine and reduces fuel consumption.
