Excellence Progression Enterprise
What’s Next for you?Welcome from the Principal:Glasgow is a city with a long history of commercial, scientific and industrial development. With its focus on excellence, progression and enterprise, Glasgow Kelvin College is instrumental in ensuring that this tradition continues.
Named after the famous physicist, Lord Kelvin, Glasgow Kelvin College is the newest college in Glasgow, although its legacy stretches back 80 years to the founding of the first further education college in Glasgow.
With five campuses across the North and East of Glasgow, GKC offers an extensive range of curriculum options covering Science, Engineering, Business, Humanities, Sport, Construction, Technology and Creative Industries. All of our full-time programmes lead to industry recognised qualifications. Many of these are awarded by the internationally respected Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
However, GKC also enjoys close links and progression routes with many universities. Completing a Higher National Diploma at GKC therefore can help you gain advanced entry to a range of university degree programmes.

'Glasgow' means 'dear green place' recognising the fact that the city has over 70 parks and open spaces; the richest concentration of parkland in any city in the UK.
Culturally, Glasgow has become an international destination through winning the titles of 'European City of Culture' and 'UK City of Architecture and Design' in previous years. The city is also home to Scotland's principal performing arts organisations including Scottish Ballet, Scottish Opera, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.
There are many providers of student accommodation throughout Glasgow.
