Information Broadcasting: A possible Scenario
A possible scenario…BI user wants to distribute and publish a BI dashboard and an ad-hoc
query to different user groups1. He designs the BI dashboard with the BEx Web Application Designer and calls the
BEx Broadcaster
2. He schedules the dashboard for 2am at night for precalculation. Afterwards it will be automatically sent to the BI Portfolio of the fifferent end-users
3. In addition he creates an Ad-hoc query (online) for some ad-hoc users and sends itto them
4. The end-users open their BI Portfolios (in EP) every morning to see what‘s going on
5. They use standard KM features for discussion, rating, collaboration

Assigning Layouts to BI Portfolios: Flexible UI
To an iViewDone by defining a layout set in the iView properties
Role-based approach: e.g. administrator‘s navigation should always look thesame and offer a given set of commands
Layout Set Mode in iView properties defines priority of settings
To a folder or folder hierarchyDone in the details dialog of the folder by chosing a predefined profile or by
creating a new one
Allows to present the content of a folder in a special way (columns, list...)
According to other rulesE.g. for special document extensions or mime types
Done by creating Object Type Handler files (.oth)
