Indonesian Provincial
Emissions Reduction
Program: Towards a fully
revised ER-PIN
Ministry of Environment and Forestry
13th CF Meeting
Brussels, 13 – 16 October - 2015
+Introduction
Indonesia has submitted the ER-PIN prior to 11th CF Meeting
and obtained provisional inclusion in the pipeline
Targeted to submit a revised ER-PIN by 13th CF Meeting, but
due to institutional reforms the revising process need to wait
until the unification of MoE and MoFor completed
Now CF-based ER Program development is decided to be
led by FORDIA, Ministry of Environment and Forestry
The remaining time is very limited difficult to achieve the
target
+Recommendations from CF 11 Meeting
di Washington (1)
The revised ER-PIN shall address the following issues:
Geographic consolidation of program and accounting areas;
Explanation of how:
one consolidated reference level will be developed
emissions from peat will be fully included
consistency with the national reference level approach and MRV
system will be ensured;
Explanation of how all relevant sources of potential leakage
resulting from the ER Program will be addressed;
+Recommendations from CF 11 Meeting
di Washington (2)
Explanation of how the ER Program will contribute to
Indonesia’s pledge to reduce national GHG-emissions by
26% by 2020 (with own efforts) and by 41 % (with
international support);
Description of how relevant components of the national MRV
system, including institutions, are used for the ER Program,
and are not unnecessarily duplicated at sub-national level;
Additional information on the relevant stakeholders, drivers,
tenure, and the proposed actions at the level of intervention
(e.g. the district level).
