INSTALLATION. USE DIMENSIONED ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS FOR SET OUT OF PENETRATIONS RELATING

OF THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS. TYPE 'B' COPPER, TYPE 'B' COPPER ALLOY, STAINLESS STEEL, POLYBUTYLENE,
CROSS-LINKED POLYTHYLENE OR POLYETHYLENE AND SHALL BE FULLY RETRIEVABLE ENCASED IN CONDUIT
FOR THE FULL DISTANCE.
11. JOINTS IN PRESSURED WATER SERVICE PIPES UNDER FLOOR SLABS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
12. ALL IN-GROUND VALVES SHALL BE ENCLOSED IN APPROVED PATH BOXES.
13. ARRANGE WITH LOCAL AUTHORITY FOR A 40Ø WATER CONNECTION, AND A 150Ø SEWER CONNECTION AND
PAY ALL FEES DUE.
14. USE EXISTING SANITARY DRAIN CONNECTION, PAY ANY AND ALL FEES DUE.
15. ALL PLUMBING SERVICES THAT PENETRATE BUILDING ELEMENTS REQUIRED TO HAVE A FIRE RESISTANCE
LEVEL, MUST BE INSTALLED SO THAT THE FIRE RESISTING PERFORMANCE OF THE BUILDING ELEMENT IS NOT
IMPAIRED.
16. ALL SANITARY DRAINAGE SHALL BE 100Ø @ 1.65% FALL UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
17. ALL STORMWATER DRAINAGE SHALL BE MINIMUM 100Ø @ 1% FALL UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

24. PROVIDE AN ANTI-FOAMIMG DEVICE TO ANY FLOOR WASTE GULLY RECEIVING WASTE DISCHARGE FROM
LAUNDRY TUBS AND OR WASHING MACHINES. CONNECTION FROM DISCHARGE PIPE TO GULLY RISER TO BE
AT 45°.
BACKFLOW PREVENTION
1. ALL TESTABLE BACKFLOW DEVICES ARE TO BE FITTED WITH ISOLATION VALVES ON INLET AND OUTLET TO
ACCOMMODATE TESTING.
2. EXTERNAL HOSE COCKS SHALL BE FITTED WITH APPROVED BACKFLOW PREVENTING VACUUM BREAKERS AND
INDIVIDUAL STOP TAPS.
3. TYPE 'C' IRRIGATION IS NOMINATED FOR THIS PROJECT. SHOULD ANY OTHER TYPE OF IRRIGATION BE
INSTALLED, PROVIDE PROTECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS 3500.1;2003 SECTION 7.
WATER SUPPLY NOTES
1. COLD WATER AND HOT WATER TO INDIVIDUAL POINTS IS TO BE 15Ø UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
2. ALL WATER SUPPLY IS TO BE DESIGNED, INSTALLED, TESTED AND LABELLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS/NZS
3500.1:2003, AS/NZS 3500.4:2003 AND THE PLUMBING CODE OF AUSTRALIA REQUIREMENTS.
3. COLD WATER TO MORE THAN ONE POINT SHALL BE 20Ø OR GREATER.
4. IN NO CASE SHALL A 15Ø COLD BRANCH EXCEED 3m IN LENGTH.
5. PROVIDE 20Ø HOT WATER PIPEWORK FROM THE HEATER TO THE SHOWER BRANCH PIPE THEN 15Ø TO ALL
OTHER HOT WATER OUTLETS.
6. PROVIDE HOT WATER UNITS WITH A 3.6kw ELEMENT WIRED TO TARIFF 11.
7. INSTALL COLD WATER CONTROLS AND PIPING ON THE INLET SIDE OF A HOT WATER UNIT TO COMPLY WITH
AS 3500.4 AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LOCAL AUTHORITY. WHERE HOT WATER
UNITS ARE LOCATED IN CEILING SPACE ISOLATION VALVE TO BE BELOW CEILING.
8. PROVIDE A PRESSURE LIMITING VALVE AND A COLD EXPANSION VALVE TO EACH HOT WATER UNIT.
9. POSITION SERVICES IN CEILING SPACES AND WALL FRAMING UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
10. RETICULATE HOT WATER TO ALL FIXTURES EXCEPT HOSE TAPS, DISHWASHERS AND WATER CLOSETS.
11. PROVIDE TEMPERING VALVES ON LAYOUTS TO COMPLY WITH INSTALLATION. TEMPERING VALVES INSTALLED
IN HOT WATER SYSTEMS SUPPLIED BY SOLAR AND/OR INSTANTANEOUS HOT WATER UNITS ARE TO BE HIGH
PERFORMANCE, RATED FOR HIGH TEMPERATURES.
12. PROVIDE 65°C HOT WATER TO KITCHEN SINK, LAUNDRY TUB AND WASHING MACHINE ONLY. SUPPLY ALL
OTHER HOT WATER OUTLETS WITH HOT WATER NOT EXCEEDING 50°C EXCEPT PWD AMENITIES, NURSING
HOMES AND CHILDCARE CENTRES WHICH ARE TO BE SUPPLIED WITH HOT WATER NOT EXCEEDING 45°C.
13. WATER SUPPLY PIPE SIZES SPECIFIED ON THESE DRAWINGS ARE BASED ON CALCULATIONS FOR PIPES
HAVING EQUIVALENT DIMENSIONAL AND FLOW CHARACTERISTICS TO THAT OF TYPE B COPPER TUBE. WHERE
ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS ARE USED, AN EQUIVALENT PIPE SIZE APPROPRIATE TO THE MATERIAL BEING USED
SHALL BE SELECTED. IN NO CASE SHALL THE INTERNAL DIAMETER OF ANY ALTERNATE PIPE MATERIAL BE
