The award was instituted in 1985. The award comprises
a bronzestatuette of Dronacharya The award carries a cash prize
of 5,00,000. B.I. Fernandez is the First foreign
Coach who was awarded by Dronacharya Award in 2012.
This Award instituted in 1985. The cash prize for this Award is 5,00,000. From 1985 to 2013, there are 85 coachers got Dronacharya
Award. The name Dronacharya Came ,bacause he is a ‘GURU’ of
Arjuna.
Dhyan Chand Award India's highest award for lifetime
achievement in sports and games, given by the Government of India.
The award is named after the legendary Indian hockey player Dhyan Chand.
The award was initiated in 2002. The award carries a cash prize of
5 lakhs. In August 2013, 4 individuals were
awarded the Dhyan Chand Award: Syed Ali (Hockey), Mary D'Souza (Athletics), Anil Maan (Wrestling) and Giriraj Singh (Para-Sports).[
From 2002 upto 2013, there are 39 sports person got this award for the sports such as,
Athletics,wrestling, Cricket,Basket ball,volley ball,swimming and Para-sports.
