Havana, June 23
India and Cuba have
signed two MoUs in the
field of biotechnology,
traditional medicine and
homoeopathy. The
agreements were inked
following delegation-level
talks between President
Shri Ram Nath Kovind and
his Cuban counterpart Mr
Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel
at Revolution Palace in
Havana yesterday. The two
countries agreed to
enhance cooperation in
biotechnology, renewable
energy and traditional
medicine. Cuba also
reiterated its support to
India's candidature for a
permanent seat in UN
Security Council.
Earlier, giving a keynote

operation in field of Biotechnology,

University, the President
said, mutual respect and
solidarity among

after they were alloted
centres outside the state
for this year 's NEET.

said, this year the number
of cities were increased to
150 from 107 in the
previous years for the
exam. He said, now any
district which has more
than 4,000 students will be
made a centre.

The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat also celebrated the day by organizing one day
National Young leader programme ( NYKLP) at Andaman Karen Craft Centre(AKC)
Lataw Village Mayabunder yesterday. Smti. Naw Sebia, Pradhan, Rampur Gram Panchayat
was the chief guest. About 80 youth and participants from different youth clubs attended
the programme. International Day of Yoga was also celebrated at Yeshuva Training
Academy hall during which students performed different yogasanas and were enlightened
about the importance and health benefit of Yoga. SAAHSWT also observed the day by
conducting mass yoga demonstration at various locations. About 950 yoga enthusiasts
participated in Yoga demonstration.
The Yoga instructors of Patanjali Yog Samiti also conducted yog classes in about 40
centers from Campbell Bay to Diglipur.
International Day of yoga was also celebrated at ANCOL. Ms. Ratha, guest lecturer,
PE conducted the program and explained about benefits of Yoga through demonstrations.
The Army, Navy & Airforce Wing NCC Cadets of A&N Islands also celebrated the
day in a befitting manner. Sr. JCO, 5 PI Staff and 60 NCC Cadets from Army and Airforce
wing participated in the Yoga demonstration. Apart from this event, other NCC institutions
at remote locations also celebrated Yoga day at their school premises.
The Gram Panchayat Mannarghat celebrated IDY at Community Hall, Wright Myo in
which Yog teacher Smti Bichitra Mazumder, Yog teacher, Smti Radhika Anand Sekar and
Assistance Yoga teacher, Shri V. Ashokan guided the gathering on different yoga protocols.
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Diglipur also observed International Day of Yoga at Community
Hall, Laxmipur in which yoga enthusiasts from different Youth Club and Mahila Mondals
of Diglipur zone participated.
The Botanical Survey of India, A&N Regional Centre also celebrated the International
Day of Yoga in its seminar hall. The Dy. Director & HoO, BSI, Dr. Lal Ji Singh highlighted
about the importance of Yoga and its benefits while Dr. Sanjay Mishra, Scientist-B
demonstrated the common Yoga protocol for the gathering.

for the scheduled sailing have been advised to cancel
