PlacementintheMouth•Astaffmemberatthedentalpracticeshouldcheckthecaseafterthe

delivery.Makesurethecaseisintactandthereisnodamagefromshipping.

•Priortodeliveryandinsertion,advisethepatientoftwofactors:

1. Thepatientmayfeeltightnessaroundtheteeth.Thisfeelingwilldissipate.Ifitdoesn’t,theSnap-OnSmilecanbeadjusted.

2. Thepatientalsomayfeelaconfinementofthetongue,andthismaycausesometemporaryspeechimpediments.Thiswillbealleviatedoverashortperiodoftime,perhapsaslittleas10-15minutes.

•AligntheSnap-OnSmileovertheteethoredentulousareaswithinthemouth.Usingtwohands,seattheSnap-OnSmileovertheexistingdentitionuntilasnapisheardorfelt,oruntilitsitsinthefinalrestingposition.TheSnap-OnSmileshouldmeetthegingivabutwillnotimpingeorcompromisethetissue.

•Havethepatientsitinthechairfor5-10minutes,allowingthe Snap-OnSmiletogetacclimatedtothedentition.Ifthepatientfeelsalittlemorethanacomfortabletightness,removetheSnap-On Smile,wait10-15seconds,andreseatit.Theresinwillhavesome elasticityandthenbecomemorecomfortable.

PlacementintheMouth•Astaffmemberatthedentalpracticeshouldcheckthecaseafterthe

delivery.Makesurethecaseisintactandthereisnodamagefromshipping.

•Priortodeliveryandinsertion,advisethepatientoftwofactors:

1. Thepatientmayfeeltightnessaroundtheteeth.Thisfeelingwilldissipate.Ifitdoesn’t,theSnap-OnSmilecanbeadjusted.

2. Thepatientalsomayfeelaconfinementofthetongue,andthismaycausesometemporaryspeechimpediments.Thiswillbealleviatedoverashortperiodoftime,perhapsaslittleas10-15minutes.

•AligntheSnap-OnSmileovertheteethoredentulousareaswithinthemouth.Usingtwohands,seattheSnap-OnSmileovertheexistingdentitionuntilasnapisheardorfelt,oruntilitsitsinthefinalrestingposition.TheSnap-OnSmileshouldmeetthegingivabutwillnotimpingeorcompromisethetissue.

• Afterreducingthelingualaspect,itisadvisabletopolishusingtheSnap-OnSmilefineacrylic polisher(#PAC-F)tosmoothanygroovesonthelingualaspect.Itisalwaysadvisableto completeanyadjustmentswiththeSnap-OnSmileroundbrushinstrument(#RB-11)with diamondpolishingpastetoallowthetonguetocontactasmoothsurfaceontheSnap-OnSmile.

• Aswithanyotherdentalappliance,checktheocclusion.

• Forocclusaladjustments,usebothcarbidebursinthebox.Forlargeocclusaladjustments,use theSnap-OnSmilegrossreductioncarbidebur(#251E-060),andforsmallerocclusal adjustments,usetheSnap-OnSmilecarbidetaperbur(#079E-040).

•RemovaloftheSnap-OnSmileshouldbeaccomplishedwiththeatleast fourlateralmovementsfromsidetosidemovingforward(designate 4-stepprocess).

•ThepatientshouldnotattempttoremovetheSnap-OnSmilewithoneor twosimplemovements,butthetaskshouldbeaccomplishedincrementally.

FacialAspect
