IMAPROGRESSREPORTSInJune,allcurrentstudentswillbereceivingdetailedprogressreportssignedbytheirteachersandtheDirectoroftheInternationalMusicAcademy.Thereportssummarizestudents’outcomesandachievementsduringthepastacademicyearaswellastheirgoalsandobjectivesfortheupcomingmonths.
IMASUMMERMUSICFESTIVALWehavehadasuccessfulacademicyearsofarandlookforwardtopreparingwellfortheRoyalConservatoryofMusicexaminationsinJuneandAugust,aswellasfortheCanadianMusicCompetitioninJune.Meanwhile,wehavealsostartedpreparationsfortheiMASummerMusicFestivalthatwilltakeplaceonSaturdayandSunday,June24-25,2017.Thefestivalwillconsistofseparateone-hourconcerts.Studentswouldberequiredtoattendonlytheconcerttheyareparticipatingin.Bookyourcalendarsforthisexcitingevent–togetherwiththeiMAWinterFestival,thishasbeenoneofthemostsignificantmomentsformanyofourstudents.TheiMASummerMusicFestivalwilltakeplaceatthenewlybuiltrecitalhalloftheInternationalMusicAcademyinStouffvillelocatedat50InnovatorAvenueinStouffvilleONL4A0Y2.Thehallhasanexcellentgrandpiano,largescreenconnectedtoanHDcamerathatwillallowyoutoseethefinestdetailsofeachperformance.TheStouffvillecampusisonlya10-15minutedrivefromourMarkhamlocation.Afreeparkingisavailablearoundtheschoolaswell.DetailedinformationabouttheFestivalschedulewillbesentbythebeginningofJune.StudentswhohavetheirlessonsonSaturdaywillperformonSundayandviceversa.StudentswhoperformatthefestivalwillbegivenIMACertificateforcompletingtheacademicyearaswellasatrophy.IMAOFFERSMOCKEXAMINATIONSFORTHERCMStartingthisyear,theIMAwillbeofferingtoallstudentswhoareregisteredforRCMexaminationsanopportunitytoplaytheirentireprogrampriortothedayoftheirexamination.ThismockexamisscheduledattheIMA–StouffvillerecitalhallonSaturday,June3,from5pmto7pm.Therearemanyadvantagesofplayingtheexaminationprograminadvanceoftheexaminationitselfandgenerallystudentsgainmoreconfidenceandperformbetterattheirexaminations.ThisisacomplimentaryserviceforallIMAstudents.
