Overview and Purpose The purpose of this document is to present some of the new features just released for the Access
Request System (formerly SAR System). These new features include a quicker submission process, as
well as the ability to track when your request has been successfully submitted. The request slider also
tracks the processing of approvals/rejections on an approver’s screen.
- Quicker Request Submission
- Ability to track request submission
- Ability for approvers to track approval/rejection processing
Getting to My Permissions There are a couple of ways to reach the My Permissions page. First of which is to click on the “App
Warehouse” icon at the bottom of the Portal homepage once you’ve logged into LIW. After searching
for an application, you can click on the “Go to Permission Request” link to be brought to the My
Permissions page.
1.) Log into LIW ( https://liw.logsa.army.mil )
2.) Click App Warehouse
3.) Search for an application
4.) Click “Go to Permission Request”
The other way to gain access is by clicking your name at the top-right of the Portal page, and clicking the
“My Permissions” menu link once on your profile page.
1.) Log into LIW ( https://liw.logsa.army.mil )
2.) Click on your name on the top-right of the Portal Homepage
3.) Click the “My Permissions” menu link on your “My Profile” page.
Requesting access to a Role Requesting access to a role is done via the “My Permissions” section of the Access Request System..
Once here, simply search for the role that you would like to gain access to, and click the green arrow.
This will move that application from the “Permissions Catalog” to the “Selected Permissions” portion of
the screen. Some applications will require extra information such as DODAACs, UICs, etc.
Once a role (or roles) has been selected, provide a justification in the comment box, and click “Request
Selected Permissions.” After this button is pressed, the role request will be generated, and processed.
Each request takes a few moments to be processed prior to being fully submitted, and contacting your
approvers. This initial process can now be tracked via the Request Queue Slider.
Tracking Request Processes With the new Request Queue Slider (Slider), you can now see when each of the requests you have
submitted since logging into the Access Request System. To expand the slider, simply click the green
arrow on the left side of the screen. The Slider will provide you with the following information:
Request ID:
o The Request ID will be generated upon the request being fully submitted
Action:
o This column reflects the action that is currently being taken for each request.
Message:
o This will capture any issues that may have occurred while processing your requests.
Status:
o This will provide you with the current status of the submission. (Processing, Completed,
etc.)
The Request slider can track more than one request that is being processed during your current login
session:
Successful Requests Once a request is successfully processed, it will have both a Request ID, as well as a “Completed” status.
Once a request is in a “Completed” status, it is then viewable on the “My Requests” screen. To go to this
screen, click the “My Requests” menu link at the top of the page.
Requests may not appear immediately upon reaching the page, so to ensure that they were successfully
submitted, click the “Refresh” button, as seen in the screenshot, to pull the latest information on your
existing requests.
Approval Process Tracking With the same Request Queue Slider, approvers can also track their approvals as they are processed.
This speeds up the processing of approvals, and the time it takes to get back to the My Approvals
screen.
Reporting Metrics Requested by many LIW users and approvers, the Reports menu link will eventually provide reports
pertaining to the different aspects of the IDM Access Request System. Within this update, the report will
be able to track the number of approvals completed by you, or those within your approval group. To use
the report menu, simply use the filter at the top of the report to drill down to the information you would
like to see, and click “Generate Report”.
