Dr Constantine Hering, a contemporaryof Dr Samuel Hahnemanry the
founder of Homoeopathy, was the firstphysician who described the principles
of chronological disease progression,
and the steps of disease reversal back
towards health. This is known as
Hering's Law of Cure. It states that
healing happens from top dowry from
inside out, and in the reverse order of
original pathological manifestations.
Disease FrogressicnFollowing Hering's and Hahnemann'shomeopathic approach, Dr Hans
Henrich Reckeweg developed
the Disease Progression Table and
described a disease as a Processthat gradually develops along the
embryological tissue lineage in three
major phases: humoraf matrix and
cellular. The initial or humoral phase
of a disease is the stage of earlydysfunctions and acute infl ammations.
This evolves into the matrix stage
where unprocessed toxicity is
deposited into intercellular space,
leading to chronic inflammatoryand early degenerative changes.
The last phase is the cellular toxicimpregnation which clinicallymanifests as a variety of chronicdegenerative and neoplastic diseases.
Frustrated by the limitations ofallopathy, and aware of a need forthe paradigm shift in conventionalmedicine, we (Dr Damir Shakambet
and myself) started integratingconventional allopathic medicine withvarious eastern and western alternativetherapies in the mid-80s. Our intentionswere ambitious: to integrate afragmented CAM movement underone unified scientific umbrella ofBioregulatory Medicine, and to merge itwith contemporary allopathic medicine.
While respecting the achievements ofmodern medicine, we began exploringthe teaching of pioneering doctors
and therapists including Hippocrates,
Avicena, Paracelsus, Constantine
Hering, Samuel Hahnemann, Hans
H. Reckeweg, Edward Bach, Carl G.
Jung, Milton H. Ericksoru Erich Berne,
Arthur ]anov, Rudolph Steiner and
many others. UnfortunatelY, theirmedical knowledge and wisdomis still largely missing from both
allopathic and complementary medical
curricula. Bioregulatory Medicine, however, delivers a model of integrated
medicine, bridging the gaP between
CAM and allopathic medicine.
Erategrati*nBy the early 90s, we had established
a coherenf scientifically viable and
therapeutically effective Bioregulatorysystem of healthcare. Integratingtraditional Chinese med icine,
psychotherapy, nutritional and
herbal medicine, as well as various
structural, postural and bioenergetic
therapies was a relativelY easY
and enormously fulfilling task. DrReckeweg's concept of Homotoxicologyhelped us develop a successful
therapeutic integration of allopathy and
homeopathy, and so the Bioregulatory
Medicine system was born.

New Medical ParadigmBioregulatory Medicine differs fromconventional medicine by shiftingthe emphasis from causality tofacilitating an open and non-linearflow of bio-information which iscapable of counteracting a multitude ofhealth disruptors by activating self-corrective mechanisms or homeostasis. In simple terms, BioregulatoryMedicine restores and facilitates ourinherent ability for self-healing.
During the first appointment, bioregulatory doctors alwaystake a detailed allopathic andpsychological medical history.Doctors of Bioregulatory Medicineadditionally focus on psychologicaland bioenergetic assessments, structural evaluation and analysis ofnutritional deficiencies and toxicities.
Perhaps the major difference betweenAllopathic and BioregulatoryMedicine is in the choice of therapeuticmethodologies. BioregulatoryMedicine incorporates modernallopathic diagnostic technology,
but its therapeutic measures aredrug free. Bioregulatory Medicineemploys a variety of naturalmodalities and techniques, such as:nutritiory osteopathy, psychotherapy, acupunctlrre or homeopathy. Each treatment is personalisedand based on the integration oftherapeutic methodologies thatare the most indicated for anindividual homeostatic re-balance.
The Presomatic SyndromeBioregulatory Medicine alsointroduces the concept of ExtendedAetiology, which places the originof a disease as psychosomatig acondition which we refer to as
the Presomatic Syndrome.
By identifying energetic, psychological and structuralimbalances, Bioregulatory Medicineoffers a therapeutic strategy toremove emotional blocks that wouldhamper physical recovery. In thisway truly preventative medicineemerges as a new option for timelytreatment in an ageing population.
Bioregulatory RemediesBioregulatory remedies are all naturaland include nutritional supplements, herbal, homeopathic or naturopathicpreparations, which support andfacilitate homeostatic mechanisms, rather than controlling or suppressingthem. The most commonly prescribedmedicines are complex homeopathicremedies which are combinations oftraditional homeopathic remedieswith homeopathically preparedimmunological preparations, such as hormones, cytokines andmicronutrients.
CONCLUSIONBioregulatory Medicine assesses andregulates all factors involved in themaintenance of optimal health. Itis a process that aims to rehydrate,re-m ineralise, detoxi fy, re-energiseand restore structural resistances andpostural misalignments of the patientsand rebalance psychological andimmuno-endocrine system control. Italso offers an opportunity for spiritualnourishmen! cognitive re-framing andimprovement in emotionalself-management.
Bioregulatory Medicine incorporatesmodern technological advances, but also offers solutions to theconsequences of stress, pollution andtoxicity. As an interdisciplinary medicalapproach that restores homeostasisby means of natural therapeuticmethodologies, Bioregulatory Medicineputs the healing power of nature andHippocrates"'Vis Medicatrix Nature"principle, back where it belongs - intoclinical practice.
