Teflubenzuron: Measured vs. Modelled
2016 vs. 2011-2012
Teflubenzuron Modelled Impact
Maximum Extent of Teflubenzuron
Extent during Sampling of Teflubenzuron
• Numerical Hydrodynamic Modelling is required to
address the challenges of a growing aquaculture sector
in Scotland
• SEPA are applying MIKE21 FM and MIKE3 FM trying to
explain measured extent of chemicals.
• Quiescence sea lochs like Loch Shell are difficult to
model accurately and good calibration and validation
data is needed to be able do this
Next steps
• Simulate Emmemectin dispersion in Loch Shell in 2D
• Develop sediment transport model in 3D for
Teflubenzuron & Emmemectin
Thanks!
