Dear Parents/Caregivers Nga mihi kia koutou katoa.

SWIMSAFE OFF TO GREAT START Great to see our seniors enjoying their water safety and swimming skills lessons this week. This is an amazing oppor-tunity and the warmth of the c o v e r e d p o o l area is a good place to be. A reminder for chil-dren in Rooms 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 that their lessons start next Monday 29 July and to bring their swimming gear every day. Dates for each class are on the online calendar. Please remember to pay the heavily sub-sidised fee of $10 before they attend.

PROPERTY  PROJECTS The holiday break enabled quite a bit of maintenance work to be done and proper-ty projects advance despite the weather. The Living Room kitchen classroom project

saw Begovich Builders put the framing up which now highlights what a great design it is. The design by PAUA Architects mirrors the current Living Room shape beautifully. Waikato Decorators also commenced the repaint of the school in our new colours. This will continue as weather permits over the next few months until all classrooms and roofs are the same colours as our new buildings. The design for our next two new classrooms to be built replacing Rooms 9 and 10 have progressed and plans have gone to the Quantity Surveyor for pricing and hopefully for approval by the Ministry of Education to proceed.

GULLY BOARDWALK TRANSFORMED A big thank you to the PTA for their work cleaning up our gully boardwalk ready for the cross country. A special mention to the Dray-Smith and Depledge families

who have spent some time these holidays cutting back the over-hanging foliage o f t h e g u l l y b o a r d w a l k . Thanks also to

Saffron and Craig Brown from Green Agen-da House and Building Washing, the boardwalk was water-blasted and protrud-ing nails knocked down. It looks great and will be safer for runners so thanks team!

YR 2-6 OPTIONAL MATHS CONFERENCES A reminder that optional 10 minute maths conferences with Year 2-6 maths teachers will be available after school on Wednes-day 31 July and Thursday 1 August.  Book-ings are open now If you want to take up the opportunity to talk to your child’s maths teacher about their mid year learning re-port. Bookings are made through the learn-ing conference portal on our webpage. The code is 4eprb and please make sure you book with your child’s maths teacher in their maths classroom, not their home teacher or home class. Bookings close at 9 am Tuesday 30 July. It would be helpful and save us paper if you could take the mid-year report your child received at the mid-year learning conferences as a discussion point.

PIANIST EXCELS Congratulations Minseo Choi from Room 5, who took part in the Hamilton Pianoforte Competition on 6 July organised by the Hamilton Competition Society. Minseo per-formed extremely well in the competition to win two first prizes. Excellent result Minseo!

MAINTENANCE ISSUE Last term we had two instances of block-ages in our sewage system due to wet wipes being flushed down our toilets. These items are not suitable to be flushed as they do not break down and require very ex-pensive measures from plumbers to reme-dy. Please do not give your child wet wipes - or any other kind of cloths - to use at school at all.

LOST & FOUND A nail gun has been handed into our school office - lost off the back of a black ute turning out of Pickering Crescent north onto Hukanui Road on Monday. Please call into the office if it is yours.
