Hughesville has experienced a variety of changes that includecompletion of the northeastern bypass, current construction of theSMECO facility and several planned projects. A positi ve dialogue hasbeen ongoing b etween various gr oups that incl ude the HughesvilleBusiness and Civic Alliance (HBCA), Hughesville Community m embersand various County and State agencies includ ing the Charles CountyDepartment of Planning and Growth Management.
The purpose of this docum ent is to open the dialogue up to the largercommunity and share some ideas and explore opportunities in or der tofurther the visio n for Hughesville Village.
The Hughesville Village Revitalization Plan adopted as part of the CharlesCounty Comprehensive Plan provides a solid foundation from which to
explore the Village vision. The Hughesville Business and Civic All iance(HBCA) recently prepared a ten point Priorit y Project List and areworking w ith the County to refine these items in an effort to move theRevitalization Plan fo rward.
This document includes various illustrations in order to solicit input tobetter define a direction and realization for a revitalized HughesvilleVillage.
