24TH& DUNE DRIVE AVALON
COMMODORE'S MESSAGEWelcome to the Avalon Yacht Club . . . for a great summer season. Through the long winter season the Trustees and Committees have been working to make this the best ever of summers. They have planned the type of entertainment and sailing schedules you really like. There will be new features to go along with some of our time tested activities. The only thing we need to make this season complete is you. Come as often as you can and bring your friends. If there is a committee on which you would like to serve please mention this to any officer. We will be delighted to have you work with us and have fun with us.

SUMMER 1980Dear Vacationer:
Welcome to Avalon! If this is your f\rst visit with us on our unique resort island, you've a lot to look forward to doing. If you're returning here after several years, welcome back.
Our immaculate, white, sand beaches gently touch the cool Atlantic and our sand dunes rise gently to the sky.
On these quiet, uncluttered beaches will be spent some of the most relaxing times of your entire vacation.
Glistening ocean waves await you in the protected surf. Warm summer rays await to deepen your tan.
Over four miles of this beautiful beach await those lazy summer walks down beach in the shallow water.
In addition to Avalon's natural attractions, a well staffed recreation department has many special summer events planned which will delight every member of your family. Whether you enjoy boating, fishing or just relaxed summertime living, Avalon is the one place for your vacation of a lifetime.
Very truly yours,Mayor Ellsworth Armacost Councilman Phillip JudyskiCouncil President R. Stewart Gray, Jr.

Yes, I own a fishing boat;It slides across the sea. Some folks say I ’m part of it and I know it’s part of me.When I'm feeling soli tare,It lets me be alone And when I want to habitat it carries me back home. And I ’m somewhere below the sunlight, somewhere upon the sea.You dig deep enough, you might find me. Find me, 'cuz that’s where I ’II be.
