Residence Advisor (RA)
▪Responsible for 30-50 students in their community
▪Builds community, ensures safety, and supports well-being of students
▪ Focuses on building strong, inclusive, and fun communities for students
▪Participates in on-call rotation
Academic Link
▪Provide support for students throughout residence within a specific program group
▪Builds community among students in same/similar faculty or program
▪Assists with students’ academic transition and academic concerns
▪Holds weekly office hours
Specialized Live-in Positions▪ Varsity Link
▪ Advises student athletes living in residence▪ Liaises with RAs and ALs, as well as supports through Ryerson Athletics & Recreation
▪ Living Learning Community Staff▪ RA or AL▪ LLC: Community like-minded individuals who apply to live on a floor with others interested in exploring a specific
theme or academic discipline▪ Lead additional programs for students based on theme/academic program:
▪ Theme LLCs: Healthy Living, Leadership▪ Academic LLCs: Fashion, Community Services, Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Residence Service Desk Agent
▪Contribute to 24/7 coverage of the front desks
▪Manage guest sign-ins, package deliveries, etc
▪Provide information and customer service to assist the residence and broader community
Student Housing Advisor
▪Assists with reception and clerical tasks in the Housing Office
▪ Support students, parents and community members with residence application and assignments process
▪ Summer and school-year opportunities available
Assignments & Financial Assistant
▪ Supports the Residence Assignments and Marketing Coordinator with the residence room offer process and tracking residence fee payments
▪Responsible for the day to day processing of applications, maintenance of the waiting list, processing cancellations, etc.
▪Assist with the preparation and sending of email correspondence connected to the application process + appeal process
Photographer & Marketing Design Assistant
▪ Supports the Residence Assignments and Marketing Coordinator with developing digital and print marketing materials
▪Takes photos at key residence events, eg. Orientation Week and other programs
▪Assist with creation and updating content for the main Housing website

Interview Process - “Hiring Carousels”▪Group interview- modeled after med/law school interviews
▪Assessed by professionals and current student staff within Housing and Residence Life
▪ Looking for how you interact with various aspects of the roles including planning programs, dealing with crisis, customer service scenarios, group dynamics, etc.
▪ Candidates will also have a 1-on-1 interview with professional staff
What we are Looking for▪ In good academic standing
▪ CGPA of 2.33 or higher
▪ Satisfactory criminal record check
▪ Previous residence experience is a plus – but not required!

CompensationThese are not work-study position.
You do not need to be work-study eligible to apply, and it may be possible to have other work in additional to your position with Housing and Residence Life.
Live-In Positions• RA position is compensated at a rate of $7,500 (adjusted for 11.5 month contracts)• AL position is compensated at a rate of $6,500 for the year. • Subsidy on residence room.
