Informative Introduction Firstly, introduce yourselves
and go through your Agenda This will orientate your audience
and gives them an idea of what to expect in your presentation
![Page 6: High School Business Heroes 2014](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020117/5681688d550346895ddf10c5/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Know Your ContentLearn your presentation content
Allows for more eye contact with audience and an engaging presentation
"Practice makes perfect” Say it in your own words If you forget what you're supposed
to say, try to improvise and keep the presentation going
![Page 7: High School Business Heroes 2014](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020117/5681688d550346895ddf10c5/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Eliminate Bad HabitsPick up on any distracting habits
you or your partners may have and try to eliminate them Avoid swaying, excessive hand
gestures, saying “um” or “like” too much, etc.
Watch videos of presentations and keynote speeches and make note of the good, the bad, and the better
![Page 8: High School Business Heroes 2014](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020117/5681688d550346895ddf10c5/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Connect with your Audience Be comfortable when speaking to
the audienceTreat it as a conversation with friendsSmile, make eye contact, add humour!Consider including interactivity with the
audience—e.g. trivia questionsLet the audience participate
in your presentation
![Page 9: High School Business Heroes 2014](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020117/5681688d550346895ddf10c5/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Use Visual Aids Include visual aids—e.g. show a short
video; include pictures, graphs, tables, sample survey/ interview questions Connect these to your topic, organization,
and marketing strategies Provides relief from reading text, and it will
show your audience another perspective of your proposals
![Page 10: High School Business Heroes 2014](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020117/5681688d550346895ddf10c5/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Don't overdo it Don't use too many colours or have
too much text in your PowerPoint or other visual aids, let yourselves do the talking YOU are the main presenter of the
presentation Keep the design of visual aids clean,
simple, consistent and easy to follow
![Page 11: High School Business Heroes 2014](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020117/5681688d550346895ddf10c5/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
Work as a Group Presentations are two-way; you
see the audience and the audience sees you maintain eye contact, smile at the
audience while partner is speaking occasionally nod and look over at your
partner (support them)
