COUNTDOWN TO A CRISISJune 20: Vet visits property at Mt Alford, southwest of Brisbane, and euthanases a horse believing it is suffering from colic.

June 25: Vet called to a property at Kerry, 50km south of Brisbane, after a horse being agisted is unsteady on its feet.

June 26: The horse at Kerry is taken home to a Biddaddaba property, 20km away, where it dies.

June 28: Biosecurity Queensland alerted that blood tests showed horse at Biddaddaba had Hendra virus.

June 29: Eight people exposed to the horse have blood tests.

June 30: Horse at a northern NSW property put down and immediately buried after confi rmed with Hendra virus.

July 1: Vet is called to Mt Alford property to see a

second sick horse, which is also euthanased.

July 2: Biosecurity Queensland alerted that Mt Alford horses have Hendra virus.

July 2: Seven people connected to the latest case given blood tests.
