Delta-Flo™ Fin Design
The Delta-Flo coil features astaggered 1/2-inch tube pattern andunique fin design allowing for lowairside pressure drop with highcapacity for lower gpmapplications. With staggered tubesand its unique fin configuration,the Delta-Flo coil is one of the mostefficient half-inch coils available inthe industry. Delta-Flo coils areavailable in the original Delta-FloE

fin surface and the new Delta-FloH®
enhanced fin surface. Delta-Flo Hfins offer increased capacities andhigher moisture carryover limitswhen compared to the originalDelta-Flo E fins. Delta-Flo E andDelta-Flo H are available inaluminum fins.
Prima-Flo®Fin Design
The Prima-Flo coil features aparallel 5/8-inch tube pattern. Theenergy efficient Prima-Flo Efinsurface is designed to decreasestatic pressure loss through thecoil. This fin is ideal for systemswhere airside pressure drop is amajor concern. Reducing pressuredrop through the coil results inlower fan brake horsepower andsystem energy savings. Prima-Flocoils are available in the originalPrima-Flo Efin surface and the newPrima-Flo Henhanced fin surface.Prima-Flo Hfins offer increasedcapacities and moisture carryoverlimits when compared to theoriginal Prima-Flo Efins. Sigma-Flo® Fin Design
The Sigma-Flo coil is available in a5/8-inch and 1-inch parallel tubepattern. The Sigma-Flo fin isdesigned to maximize heat transferand minimize coil size. The 5/8-inch Sigma-Flo tube pattern is availablewith COPPER fins only. The 1-inchSigma-Flo tube pattern for use withsteam coils is available withaluminum or copper fins.
Better Performance Using
Trane IVS
Infinitely variable fin spacing (IVS)gives the designer many ways toselect the right coil for a particularjob.
IVS fins are available on all coil finsurfaces for coil selections tailoredto application needs. This flexibilityis important since coil heating orcooling loads can be matchedmore precisely than traditional"fixed" fin spacing. For example, a Delta-Flo Ecooling coil can beselected from 72 fins per foot to168 fins per foot in one-finincrements.
In many cases IVS fins will allowdesigners to reduce the number offins required to meet coil loads.Fewer fins can result in lowerairside pressure drops and lowerfan brake horsepower, savingvaluable energy dollars. Reducingthe fan BHP may allow theselection of a smaller fan motor ora smaller air handler, savingadditional dollars.
Using IVS and the five fin surfaceoptions, the designer has moreflexibility than ever to design andselect coils.
Computerized Selection
Programs
For quick, easy and accurate coilselections, as well as greaterflexibility in design decisions, TheTrane Company has developedcomputerized selection programs.These programs are available fromyour local Trane office.

Improve system efficiency with 25coil types, five fin surfaces, IVS anda wide selection of refrigerant coilcircuiting options. Since pumpingcosts are typically lower thanairside operating costs, increaseavailable waterflow to reduce finrequirements and airside pressuredrops for fan energy savings.
