Jottings from Janie…..
24 Yuba City Women of
the Moose CSI Agents made
themselves well known in Re-
no at the Annual Moose Con-
vention. WE ROCKED!! We
wore black CSI shirts, gave
out 93 door prizes donated
by us and 500 gift bags with products donated
from Sunsweet, Sunwest Rice, Colusa Casino,
Hicks Ranch and ‘We’re #1’ pens from our own
LOOM. Special thanks go to Cecil Davis for the
rice and Gene Dodson for the Sunsweet products.
We sang ‘Jeremiah’ and did the Tater Skit declaring
ourselves the ‘Sweet Taters’ of Yuba City! It was an
exhausting amount of work, but in the end we had a
ball!!
October 8 is the date for the WOTM Yard Sale!
Bring your good stuff to the lodge and we will put it
in the cage out back. We will need plenty of help that
day from 6:00 am - 2:00 pm! A good time will be
had by all!
October 15 is the date for the annual Barn Dance
complete with a jail! Dress down appropriately and
prepare to be locked up while dancing to the music of
the Cottonwood Band! We will have Ribs by Skip.
All this for only $12! How do we keep our prices so
low? Just because we love you so!
Our Hunk of the Month is Danny…..Danny is
always there for the Women of the Moose. He helps
us sort out what our keys are for, move tables, set up
for special events, find boxes and keeps an upbeat
attitude. He is our all around ‘go to ‘ guy! For all
you do, Danny, we thank you and 2 Wednesday night
dinners are yours!
Our Sweet Volunteer of the Month is Diane Tate.
If you want a smile and a kind word go sit by Diane.
She has a laugh that carries throughout the room. In
the 4 years she has been in the Moose she has been an
officer twice and a chairman once. She was an
invaluable help at the registration table in Reno, she is
in charge of WOTM funerals, makes cards for
sickness and distress, is on the WOTM breakfast crew
and is in the kitchen for almost every event. She is on
the decorating crew. She is a friend to all. Oh, yeah,
and she works full time in Sacramen-
to!! A presentation will be given at
the first meeting in October.
Congratulations, Diane, the parking
place is yours.!
Hi Moose Members,
Thanks to everyone who
came and supported our
functions last month. We have a
very busy month ahead of us.
Please try to get your dance
tickets early. This month the
WOTM has their annual Barn
Dance, the Sports Club is putting on a Pit Beef BBQ
(All you can eat), we have the LOOM annual Halloween
Dinner Dance and the youth club has the Children’s
Halloween Party. Please come to the function and bring
your family and friends. The Moose Lodge has a lot of
different activities for everyone. Invite your family and
friends to be a part of our lodge. Remember if you get
two members in you get your next year dues paid.
On the Second Sunday of the month the LOOM
Officers Cook breakfast. This month expect a new
menu.
Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting
taco night. The taco crews work very hard. The crews
do a great job! The current record is Grady’s crew with
$303.00. WOW!!
The Moose Lodge is now the place to watch football.
We now have special $5.00 meals on Sundays and all
you can eat Spaghetti on Mondays for $4.00. We have
three colored televisions and lots of room to spread out.
Volunteers are always needed. We need more help
around the lodge. We need help with decorating,
cooking, serving, selling tickets, door people, cleaning
and etc. The same few people can’t do it all. Please
consider coming down and helping. You never know
you might meet new people and have fun.
We are still looking for an Administrator. If you are
interested please call me at 755-4727.
My pick for Super Moose for the month of October is
John Larken. John has recently been very active in the
youth club activities. He has helped on the youth clubs
Friday Night dinners, serving on Sundays and cooking
hamburger and hotdogs. John will get two Wednesday
Night Dinner Tickets and he can park in the Super
Moose Parking Space.
The Shining Star Moosette for this month is Bonnie
Smesler. Bonnie helps with appetizers, tacos, and
Friday night dinners. Bonnie enjoys volunteering and is
always willing to help.
Remember if you have any ideas, questions
or concerns please email me at jobconstruc-
[email protected]. I look forward to hearing from
you. Governor, Joe Croghan

More good stuff!!!
WILLIE’S CORNER
Whoa, what a rush.
Been having a lot of fun with this email stuff. Lots of folk have
joined up and confirmed that they wanted to get their Moose Call
early. If you did not confirm that you received it you need to do so.
Thank you so much!!
It seems as if some of our members are missing dishes they brought food in
for a reception or funeral. Please be sure you only take what is yours and if
you have something that belongs to others, please bring it back. Thanks
Spaghetti Mondays
The all you can eat Salad, Spaghetti and garlic bread
for only $4.00 is a hit! This event is being put on by the Camping
Club to buy the Lodge WiFi. Lots of our members have been
asking for it and the demand keeps growing with all of the
members getting smart phones. So come on down and support
Spaghetti Mondays and Monday Night Football! All of our
Spaghetti profits will be going towards getting WiFi for the Lodge
which will be free to our members and guests. What a great price
for a superb meal at your Moose Lodge.
UNSUNG HEROES
Thank you, thank you, thank you to Cecil Davis. What a guy! The convention committee had an idea, presented it to Cecil and he made it happen.
Thank you Cecil. You’re the greatest!! Melissa Hommerbocker is next on my list. Not only does Melissa work constantly as a
bartender, putting up with everyone but when she goes home she’s a sign maker. On her days off she decorates the social quarters. Thank you, Melissa
Steve Sebillian, your wonderful. The past Gov/Senior Regent function was great. The past royalty seemed very happy. Steve you made their day. This can be added to your
long list of accomplishments. Steven, once more thank you. Last, I think that Susanne Rowley and John Larkin should be applauded. They are work-ing on getting the youth club back up and going. Kudos to you! Great job. We’re seeing
youth involvement in our family center once again. Thank you for being there for the youth. Charline Gonder

been ill or had a death in the family. We cannot show someone we care unless we know about the event. Please
help us make every member of our Moose home feel like a part of the family by notifying the office at 671-1204
