The Caliper Tool (CT) fromHalliburton provides means toaccurately assess borehole condition fora number of applications, fromborehole breakout analysis to logquality evaluation.

The tool comprises six highly-sensitiveand fully independent caliper armscapable of recording high resolutionborehole data with accuracy andrepeatability to within 0.1 inch.Revealing details of boreholedimensions, defects, washouts andcondition, the CT provides highlyaccurate characterization of boreholesize and shape, making it an excellenttool for analyzing the near wellborestress field.

With a current product offering thatincludes Borehole Breakout Analysis,Borehole Annular Volume, andBorehole Image, the Caliper Tool also provides an important assessmentcapability for evaluating log quality.

By identifying even small drilling-induced borehole defects, the CT affords betterreservoir understanding, allowing operators to fine tune drilling practices and makemore confident decisions on completion strategies and drilling mud programs.
