Balancing items and NAS - Intro
Correct for inconsistent accounting of inputs and outputs to derive consistent material balance

Balancing items and NAS – Input side
Oxygen for combustion processes-> based on air emission data -> requires to account in addition for H content in energy carriers -> requires to account for net demand (less oxygen content of energy carriers)
Include real oxygen demand for production – steel production
Exclude CO2 emissions from cement and lime production (intrinsic CO2)
Oxygen for respiration - coefficients Nitrogen for Haber-Bosch – estimate Nitrogen for NO, NO2 emissions – feasible?

Balancing items and NAS – Output side
Water vapour from fuels -> requires to account for H2O content in energy carriers
Water vapor from oxidised hydrogen in fuels -> based on H accounted at input side
CO2 and H2O from respiration of humans and livestocks – coefficients
