Gucci is celebrating its 90th Anniversary this year. Gucci’s signature style can be described in two words – unbelievably sexy.
Their recent campaign FW 2011-12, inspired by the 70s has archived that smoky, sexy look that Gucci thrives on. The campaign was shot by the famous photographer Mert & Marcus and is featuring the models, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Joan Smalls, and Emily Baker.
The campaign features, 70s inspired sunglasses, silk chiffon gowns, wide flared pants, python handbags and heels, jersey dresses, wide sleeve blouses with scarves, wide flared pants, python handbags, python heels, fur scarves and wide hats with engraved Gucci script logos
Mert and Marcus are Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, fashion photographers. Some of their major clients are top fashion labels such as Louis Vuitton, Missoni, Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Fendi, Kenzo and Miu Miu.
They created the images for perfume houses such as Gucci, Yves St Laurent, Givenchy and Lancôme. They have also worked with celebrities like: Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Linda Evangelista, Gisele Bündchen, Björk, Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, Charlotte Rampling, Kylie Minogue, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and most recently Victoria Beckham for a Giorgio Armani shoot.
ModelsAbbey Lee Kershaw (born 12 June 1987 in Melbourne, Australia) also known as Abbey Lee, is an Australian fashion model. Following several years of success leading up to the 2011 fashion seasons, V magazine dubbed Kershaw a supermodel.
Puerto Rican native, Joan Smalls, found her start in the modeling world in 2007 when left her homeland, moved in with her aunt in Queens, and is signed with Elite Model Management in New York. After being selected to walk exclusively for the Givenchy Spring 2010 couture show, Joan immediately became one of the most coveted catwalk models. She opens the spring 2011 Gianfranco Ferre, Gareth Pugh, and Gucci shows in Milan and Paris.
Emily Baker is born in New Zealand, she walked in 60 fashion shows and for all the big names in the industry. Her career started when she walked for Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Max Azria and Calvin Klein in New York.
