Growing Exceptional Students SUPERHEROES! Muhlenberg County Community Members
are REAL SUPERHEROES! GES students and staff members celebrated “Read Across America” with
Community Members reading the book, A Little Spot of Kindness written
and illustrated by Diane Alber, with each classroom. Our Community
Members inspire us to be a better GES!
GES is… GROWING EXCEPTIONAL SUPERHEROES means working hard to
make our school the VERY BEST it can be. Students were given the
opportunity to help raise funds for GES to purchase/update technology and
other special projects for better opportunities for our students and school.
GES staff and students celebrated the top World’s Finest Chocolate sellers
at our February Blackhawk Assembly. We are proud of these Blackhawks
for going above and beyond for our school. Thank you, Will Oates and
Kinlee Rolley for working hard to make GES an even better place to be!
If you need a chocolate fix, you might ask Easton Watkins and Ellyson
McPherson to share part of their 5 lb. bar of chocolate they won!
GES is… GROWING EXCEPTIONAL SUPERHEROES means learning to
give our best each and everyday. GES hosted the Jr. Beta Induction
Ceremony for 4th and 5th graders meeting the criteria for membership. In
addition to good grades, attendance, and character, students who are
become members of the Beta organization have an opportunity to serve
their community and help others.
The future is bright for our Blackhawks!
GES is… Growing Exceptional Superheroes means teaching our students to have the
best possible opportunities to learn. Daily school attendance is a great
step in student learning. Being on time and ready to learn sets the tone for
each student to receive the best education as they prepare for their future.
GES students are participating in “GES March Madness Attendance”
challenge. The top 16 classrooms with the highest attendance during the
week of Feb. 24-28, 2020 were chosen for the “Sweet Sixteen” bracket.
LET THE “MARCH ATTENDANCE MADNESS” BEGIN!
GES is… Growing Exceptional Superheroes rise to the challenge of PERFECT
ATTENDANCE for February (even with all the Flu and other illnesses).
Students with perfect attendance for the month were randomly chosen to
participate in a Basketball Shootout Challenge. Madison Drake was the
winner of the game with the help of her teacher, Mr. Matt Adams.
Way to go, Blackhawks!
GES is… Growing Exceptional Superheroes means…
sharing KINDNESS each and everyday!
Kindness Matter
By Vanessa McGehee
Be Kind…
Everyone Needs a Hand
So Do All That YOU Can Do
To Help Lift Others Up
And To See Them Through.
Some Days Will Be Tough
Of That There is No Doubt.
But KINDNESS matters most
When There Seems No Way Out.
So Stand Up and Be Brave
And Share Your Kindness Each Day.
Let Others Know They Matter
By Listening To What They Say.
Be Kind.
