John Legend, “A Legendary Christmas:Deluxe Edition”Legend dropped a solid christmasalbum last year, but he came back witha new version with four new songs,namely a duet of of “baby It’s coldOutside” with Kelly clarkson thatfeatures new lyrics. The others are“This christmas,” “my FavoriteThings” and “christmas in NewOrleans.”

Kacey Musgraves, “The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show”her 2016 holiday album is a delight, so we’re happy to see her back.based on her amazon Prime christmas special, this is full of favoritesand new tunes, too. Our favorite tracks are a duet of “rockin’ around thechristmas Tree” with camila cabello and the beautiful but heart-aching“christmas makes me cry.”

Idina Menzel, “Christmas:A Season of Love”Good timing. On the heelsof “Frozen 2,” menzel hasanother holiday album.and the most fun track iswhen she teams up withher co-star Josh Gad forthe cheery “We Wish youthe merriest.”

Michael Buble, “White Christmas”buble already did this one on hisvery good, very popular christmasalbum. but this is a totally newversion that’s also pretty dang good,plus the single’s b-side featureshim reading “’Twas the Night beforechristmas.”

Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra,“Winter Wonderland”did you know Goldblum plays jazz piano? hedoes. and quite well. This is a great jazz takeon an old favorite.

“This Warm December, A Brushfire Holiday Vol. 3”Jack Johnson’s record label always does the holidaysright with their collaborative christmas albums. Perfectfor listening around a warm, crackling fire, the acousticrecord features Johnson’s jam about his “New axe,”mason Jennings’ redo of his inclusive song “buddhaToo” and Zach rogue’s toasty “mrs. santa claus.”

“You Wish”This is the best holiday album of 2019.merge records put together a 14-songcompilation featuring mac mccaughan,hiss Golden messenger, LucindaWilliams, Telekinesis, mikal cronin andthe shout Out Louds, among others.every single song is great.

Rob Halford, “Celestial”Inject a little heavy metal into your holidays when theJudas Priest frontman howls and headbangs his waythrough your favorite christmas songs. and make nomistake: This is a hard-charge, heavy metal album fullof cranked guitars and growled vocals. Throw the hornsand shout along to “deck the halls.”

Jonas Brothers, “Like It’sChristmas”In the midst of their revival, theJobros dropped a peppy littlechristmas jam.

“Hanukkah+”Oh yes. It’s not just christmas upin here. a bevy of famous artistsincluding Jack black, haIm, LoudenWainwright III, The Flaming Lips, yoLa Tengo and others put togetherthis 12-track hanukkah album.

Los Lobos, “Llegó Navidad”This album is largely in spanish,which makes sense since it’smostly a collection of songs fromfrom central america and southamerica with a few others (“It’schristmas Time in Texas” andthe original “christmas and you”)thrown in there, too. Plus there’s agreat version of “Feliz Navidad.”

HAIM, “Halleluljah”The haim sisters brought theirsimply beautiful harmoniestogether to great effect once again.

Alessia Cara, “Make It ToChristmas”Got the winter blues? We hear you.and so does alessia cara, whosesong is all about wondering if afaltering relationship can at leastlast until christmas.

Ingrid Michaelson &Jason Mraz, “ChristmasValentine”If you’re after a very tweechrismtas, we have the track foryou. adorable songwriters Ingridmichaelson and Jason mrazteamed up for this one, which isonly available from amazon.

Blink-182, “Not AnotherChristmas Song”yes, even blink has a holiday song.Well, with lines like “I’m burned outlike lights on a tree,” it’s kind of ananti-holiday song.

McFly, “Santa Claus is Coming toTown”Put a smile on your face with thisbright, fun version of the classicfrom this british pop band.

Elle King and Ronnie Spector,“Under the Mistletoe”What a pair of voices.

Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors,“It’s Christmas”a three-song eP has a couplefavorites as well as this newtrack, which is a realist’s take onchristmas: “Precious childrenwith their lists/Is pure unbridledavarice/at christmas.”

The Regrettes feat. DylanMinnette, “Holiday-ish”Look, it’s hard to feel christmasywhen there’s no snow andnobody’s caroling. This greatpunk quartet explores with it’slike celebrating in in a placethat’s most certainly not a winterwonderland.

Ne-Yo, “Another Kind ofChristmas”Feeling a little r&b this year?Ne-yo has you covered with agroove-filled record. Just turn onhis amazingly smooth version of“merry christmas baby.” Oh boy.

Puss N Boots, “Christmas All OverAgain”The supergroup of Norah Jones,sasha dobson and catherinePopper have put out exactly tworecords: a 2014 album and thisyear’s five-song “dear santa...”eP. It’s four originals, including“christmas butt” and “christmasall Over again,” as well as agorgeous rendition of “silentNight.”

Chicago, “Chicago Christmas”did you want a bunch of christmassongs done up with a whole lot ofhorns? If you’re a diehard chicagofan, that’s absolutely what youwant. and here it is.

Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra,“Big Band Holiday II”Just like it sounds: The orchestraplays big band versions of yourfavorites. Guests include Wyntonmarsalis, catherine russell,Veronica swift and the late arethaFranklin.

Josh Rouse, “The Holiday SoundsOf Josh Rouse”a Nebraska native, the singer-songwriter now resides inspain, hence tracks such as“mediterranean X-mas.”

Robbie Williams, “The ChristmasPresent”The british singer goes with abig band and classic feel for thisdouble album, which features 28tracks and guest spots from rodstewart and Jamie cullum.
