The Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) expertise is primarily medical: they operate 92 hospitals and are using these staff for medical response.
727 medical teams from 92 Japanese Red Cross hospitals have treated more than 67,000 patients

The Japanese Red Cross Society is also providing emotional and psychosocial support in shelters and in the affected communities.
