Dear Class of 2013:On behalf of the school board, administration and staff, congratulations to each of you as you complete your educa-
tion at Maple Lake High School. We greatly appreciate thepositive things the Class of 2013 has done for our schooldistrict. I hope your years in the Maple Lake School Dis-trict have provided fond memories that will last a lifetime.
Your ef fort s in the classroom, commitment to student or-ganizations and leadership helped create an enjoyable, posi-tive atmosphere in our school.
Graduation signifies the end of your time as high school
students, but it is also the beginning of your lives as youngadults. Although you may have been anticipating highschool graduation for some time, you might be experienc-ing feelings of doubt, causing you to ask yourself, Now
what? Here are a few thoughts you may find he lp ful inyour lives as high school graduates.
Set goals and allow yourself to be a dreamer. A great deal ofyour current focus may be on choosing a career path and
obtaining the education and training necessary to attainyour career goals. Seldom are there shortcuts to success. Wemust be willing to pay the price through preparation andthe dedication of our time and energy in order to achieveour goals and realize our dreams. Rest assured you have theeducation and ability to choose a career path and be suc-cessful in this age of endless possibilities.
Live a principled l ife. Your families, your teachers and our
community have guided you in developing an understand-ing of right and wrong. Many people find continued guid-ance in this area through their spiritual lives. Hold yourself
accountable for thechoices you make re-garding your job, your relationships
and your family. Behonest, be trustwor-thy and keep yourpromises.
Enjoy life! While hardwork wi ll be neces-sary as you strive toreach your profes-
sional goals, remem-ber to have fun.Maintain interestsoutside your profes-sional life and takepart in those activi-ties regularly. Spend quality time with family and friends. There is no substitute for caring about someone and having
them care about you. Your family and friends will be therefor you just as you are there for them.
Thank you, once again, for the positive influence you hadon our school. You brought a great deal of joy to your fel-low students and our staff. We are proud of your accom-plishments and are pleased to recognize you as the newestalumni of Maple Lake High School.
