Today we celebrate our graduating seniors from our church. Throughout my time as a student pastor, I was constantly terrified of the question, “Did I equip them enough with spiritual tools to make
it in the world?” I know that for every parent that enters this time of year, they must have similar fears and doubts. Throughout all of my ministry that God has allowed me to serve in, I have never been more certain than I am now, that we have a ministry for children and students that is leading them to a personal faith and Christian worldview.
This morning you will hear from our student pastor Brian Enevoldsen as he explains the vision and strategy for equipping students for the future ahead of them. I want to encourage you to do a couple of things this week. Begin praying for our student and children’s ministries. Pray that the Lord would energize the adults that volunteer and lead both groups. Pray that the Word of God would become more and more relevant to them in a day where the Bible seems to be considered less and less. Pray that their communication with God through prayer would grow to the point of open conversation. Pray that they will find their counsel in people that point to the Word and not the world. Pray for their friendships and their influences.
I know several of you are wondering why the path we are leading the kids is called Orange. We believe that the strongest influence that a child can get is when the family and the church intersect. The writers of Orange believe the same thing! When the love of the family (RED) and the light of the Church (Yellow) collide, then you get…yep, you guessed it, ORANGE.
So help us to bring up a generation of adults that have an ORANGE type of faith. Help us to be ORANGE for the next generation. Hey, maybe you just need a little more ORANGE in you as well!
Kyle Clayton, Senior Pastor
