Lesson 2 : Internet
Program: publisher 2007
Although the World Wide Web is often referred to as the Internet, the two are not the same thing.
The Internet is a huge network of networks that links computers together all over the world using a range of wires and wireless technologies.
The World Wide Web www. is the collection of linked pages that are accessed using the Internet and a web browser.
Last week in character building we learned more about the 6 pillars and how they are important to help us develop strong characters.
We learned key words and phrases that would lead us to being trustworthy, respectable, caring, responsible, and fair and to being great citizens.
Our next character building class will be postponed due to the trip, but we will be sure to practice everything we learned daily!!
Computers
This week we had the opportunity to visit the library, meet the Librarian and learn about the rules of the Library and watch a short film “Taking care of our books” as part of the orientation.
We are scheduled to visit the Library once a week. The children asked lots of questions and are looking forward to their next visit. We hope to create an early love for reading by exposing them to these environments.
In Drama we’ve been acting out the stories from the reading books. Grade 1 “The Hat” & Grade 2 “Authur’s Reading Race”. It’s been fun trying to incorporate different emotions into the story. We’re also going to bring additional stories such as “The 3 Little Pigs”, “Goldilocks and the 3 Bears” and “Little Red Riding Hood”. These are old time favorites that we hope the children will enjoy.
