Goths first referred to by Greek/Roman historians in the 1st & 2nd centuries, CE.
Germanic people apparently from southern Sweden, crossed over to the mouth of the Vistula very early (certainly before the Romans noticed them).
Gothic is the oldest attested Germanic language.
Largest single Gothic document is Bible translation attributed to Gothic bishop Wulfila (~311-383)
